Louisville: The University of Louisville Football Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Internship program is currently accepting applications for the 2018 Fall Semester.  The internship will run from Aug 2nd– Dec 11th, and you will report Aug 1st. These internships are unpaid and non-coaching positions.  Prerequisites: The candidate must be pursing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and be CPR and First Aid certified.  Candidates must be considering, pursing or possess a certification through the CSCCa and/or NSCA.  Those accepted will assist in the day to day operations of the facility, including: cleaning and maintenance duties, set-up and break-down of equipment for all workouts, data collection, organizing nutrition/fueling station and assist with GPS catapult systems.  The internship program consists of mock interviews, presentations to the staff, weekly topics and bi-weekly evaluations. Candidates must possess a strong work ethic, respectable character, 100% commitment to the program and a desire to pursue a career in the strength and conditioning field. Fordham: Fordham University Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 3-5 Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Interns for the Fall 2018.  The internship will last from Aug 3rd – Dec 6th.  Interns will gain practical experience working and coaching in a Division 1 S&C environment with 22 Varsity sports, possible future recommendations, and college credit if applicable. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; attributes including hardworking, passionate, detail orientated, and has the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field. Preferred qualifications include certifications from highly regarded governing bodies (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern/coaching experience, and current/previous competitive sport involvement.  Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BS/MS in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, or similar field.  Responsibilities will include: Daily maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for all training sessions, and assisting in the coaching of those sessions.  Learn and assist with the implementation of Catapult GPS/ Polar Heart Rate technology and data entry. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects and reports to further develop S&C knowledge and coaching ability. This is an UNPAID position. East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State University Football Strength & Conditioning is looking for 2-3 hard working, enthusiastic volunteer interns who are confident, have a presence and are able to assist with coaching Division 1 Football Student- Athletes for the Fall 2018 Semester. The individuals chosen for this position must be able to begin August 1 st and work through November 30 th for the Fall internship. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, and have a current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa or the NSCA. A CSCCa 640-Hour Mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the Strength and Conditioning staff. Candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. Tulane: Tulane University Strength and Conditioning, located in New Orleans, Louisiana, is currently seeking applicants for 3 volunteer UNPAID internships for BOTH Football (2) and Olympic Sports (1) for the Fall 2018 Semester. This position will run from August 27th – December 14th. Required qualifications: Currently pursuing bachelors or masters degree in exercise science or a related field and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength & Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications: Experience as a collegiate athlete and currently pursuing or possessing NSCA, USAW, or CSCCa certification(s). This is a non-paid volunteer position, it may fulfill course credit if necessary. Missouri Southern State: The Missouri Southern State University Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for Volunteer Intern Strength and Conditioning Coaches for the Fall semester of 2018. Projected dates of the Internship are August 5 th or August 19 th through December 5 th 2018 with the possibility of an earning an extension. This is a voluntary position and will receive no monetary compensation. Preference will be given to Candidates who possess or are working towards Certification through the NSCA or CSCCa, CPR / First Aid / AED Certification, outstanding organizational and computer skills, great work ethic and professionalism. Previous coaching and / or playing experience is a plus. Verbal communication skills with diverse populations is a must. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Set up and breakdown of training sessions for all sports, general maintenance and upkeep of Athletic Facilities, communication with Sport Coaches, Athletic Training staff and Administration, assist with Football and all Olympic Sports. Added responsibilities as earned, such as, input into program design and leading groups / teams. Our goal is to develop COACHES. Selected candidates will receive valuable experience in the day to day operations of a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Department, program design and implementation, nutrition, speed, agility and explosive training.
