UC Davis: UC Davis is currently accepting applications for Volunteer assistant/Inter strength and conditioning for the Fall Quarter of 2016. This position will work primarily with Football, Men’s and Women’s Basketball and Baseball. Candidates must demonstrate a strong work ethic and be highly motivated to pursue a career in strength and conditioning. Responsibilities include assistance in training of student-athletes, assist in enforcing facility policies and rules, and daily facility maintenance. Required qualifications: candidates must be in the process of earning or already have earned their bachelor’s degree in a related area. Cal Berkeley: The University of California Berkeley Strength and Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Interns for Olympic Sports for the of Fall 2016. Candidates will be working with variety of Olympic Sports and must have a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and desire to pursue this profession as a full time career. Preferred qualifications include: student working towards the completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field, CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification and CPR certification. This is an unpaid internship, no monetary compensation will be provided. Duration of Internship will be August 22 nd -December 15 th . Interns will receive experience working in a PAC 12 training environment, experience with a variety of Olympic team sports, education to be able to pass the CSCS certification exam, have potential to earn future recommendations, and college credit if applicable. Wyoming: The University of Wyoming Sports Performance Department is now accepting applications for FALL 2016 VOLUNTEER INTERN positions (2). Application review will begin immediately. Job Description: Assist the sports performance staff in all day-to-day operations of the University of Wyoming weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for Olympic Sports, setup and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Interns must also complete all requirements assigned through the intern education program. Qualifications: Pursuing a Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Prospective interns must pass a background check to be eligible for the position. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW is preferred. Compensation: This is an UNPAID POSITION. Class credit toward graduation requirements from your current institution, weekly structured education sessions, the opportunity to learn from five experienced strength and conditioning coaches. Interns will also have the opportunity to complete a mentorship through CSCCa Master Strength Coach and approved mentor Mike Cotterman. Dates: August 2016-December 2016.
