Texas: The University of Texas Basketball Athletic Performance department is looking for qualified interns for the 2018-2019 school year (August 2018 – May 2019). Applicants should possess an educational background in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field. Applicants should also have current CPR/AED certifications, as well as be certified, or strong interest in obtaining the SCCC or CSCS certification. Daily responsibilities include, but not limited to: daily upkeep of facility, nutritional restock and distribution, facilitating the needs of the Basketball programs as delegated. More responsibility will be added as it is earned. Applicants should possess: strong work ethic, attention to detail, Bachelor’s degree or a degree in progress, advanced problem solving skills, and a strong desire to be a collegiate strength and conditioning coach. Preferred applicants will have current certifications, collegiate basketball athletic performance coaching and/or playing experience, and the ability to commit to an entire school year. Compensation: This is a UNPAID/VOLUNTEER position. However, successful completion of this internship can fulfill credit hours towards a program degree, SCCC certification or CSCS certification and all fees associated with these certifications, as well increased opportunities for advancement in the field of sports performance. Northwestern State (FCS – LA): Northwestern State University is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistantship for the 2018 school year. The candidate will receive an annual $12,000 stipend, meals, and will qualify for in state tuition discount but will not receive a tuition waiver. Graduate Assistants will report to the Director of Strength & Conditioning and will be responsible to work with all members of the Strength & Conditioning staff. Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to: The Development and implementation of training programs for 1-3 assigned teams, teach a strength & conditioning class in the Health & Human Performance department, teach lifting technique, nutritional guidance, movement assessments, mobility exercises, intern curriculum, and weight room maintenance. Required qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or health related field, hold current certification in the CSCS (NSCA), SCCC (CSCCa), or USAW, and possesses a first aid CPR/AED certification.  Previous experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning program, positive attitude, willingness to be selfless, and excellent interpersonal communication skills are required. Employment of the selected applicants is conditional on being accepted into Northwestern State University’s Health & Human Performance graduate program. King’s College (D-III – PA): King’s College is looking to hire a sports performance coach and coordinator of intermetro wellness center. The sport and performance coach serves King’s intercollegiate athletes and athletic teams in addition to providing oversight for activities, daily operations and administrative oversight of the Intermetro Wellness Center. Bachelor’s degree in physical education, kinesiology, exercises science, health science, or related field required. Current NSCA-CSCS or CSCC certification required. First Aid, CPR, AED certification required. A minimum of three years strength and conditioning coaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
