Kent State: Kent State University is looking for Sports Performance internship candidates for the Fall Semester (September – December 2017). Daily responsibilities include: assisting with the set up and break down of training sessions, daily clean up and maintenance of the weight room and all of its equipment, assist with supervision and demonstration during the training sessions, and participation in a structured internship program, which includes required weekly meetings and projects. Candidates should be working towards completion of a bachelor’s/master’s degree in exercise science or related field.  Applicants should be pursuing strength and conditioning as a profession and possess, or currently be working on, CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification.  Internship candidates must be earning class credit for their participation. This is an UNPAID position, no monetary compensation, housing or meals are provided.   However, potential mentorship opportunity to obtain the CSCCa, SCCC certification will be available for some candidates.  Interested candidates should submit a cover letter, resume and 3 references to Bob Lemieux, Asst. Houston: The University of Houston Football Sports Performance is currently accepting applications for UNPAID internships for the fall of 2017. Internship report date is August 21 st . Applicants should have, or be working towards, a BA/BS in an Exercise Science related field. Completion of this internship can fulfill potential credit hours toward a program degree, and offer an opportunity for advancement in the field of sports performance. Preferred qualifications include certification from one or more of the following (CSCCa, CSCS, USAW), previous coaching experience and proficiency in teaching basic weight room exercises. This position is responsible for assisting the football sports performance staff with the implementation of the fall program, set up and break down of all workouts, maintenance and upkeep of the weight room and facility, and hands-on experience training collegiate athletes. Marquette: Marquette is looking to hire interns for the fall (August 28th – December 1, 2017). Qualifications: Potential coaches should be highly motivated with a strong desire to work in a fast paced and competitive Division I environment. Successful candidates should have prior weight room experience in collegiate or professional athletics. Additionally, candidates should be working towards completion of a bachelor’s/master’s degree and/or have a strong desire to gain experience in the field of sports performance enhancement. Preferred qualifications include prior classes in anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and exercise physiology as well as certification through the NSCA, CSCCa or USAW. Compensation: No monetary compensation. Class credit toward graduation with prior institution approval.
