Stony Brook (FCS – NY): Stony Brook University (DI – Long Island, NY): Stony Brook University Athletic Performance Department is now accepting applications for its Spring 2017 VOLUNTEER Internship. Responsibilities of this internship position will include but are not limited to assisting in the supervision and execution of strength and conditioning training programs for all 18 of its Division I sports. Individuals selected for the internship will also assist in teaching proper technique and use of equipment, as well as daily upkeep of the athletic performance training facilities. The internship will offer valuable experience with a variety of sports both male and female, an introduction to a variety of training systems, all while networking and earning future recommendations for related career opportunities. This position will NOT provide any monetary compensation. Stony Brook Athletic Performance is seeking highly motivated individuals with a strong work-ethic who aspire to be a strength and conditioning professional. Ideal candidates will have or be in the process of completing a bachelor’s degree in exercise science/kinesiology or a related field. Certification by an accredited governing body (NSCA, CSCCA, USAW) is preferred, but not required. Applications must be received by January 9th, 2017.
