University of Minnesota Duluth: The University of Minnesota Duluth Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting internship application for Fall 2017. There are 2 internship positions available to work with the both OLYMPIC Sports and FOOTBALL. Individuals will have the opportunity to gain collegiate coaching experience and work with all Sports teams. Candidates must possess or be working towards certification through CSCCa, NSCA, and/or USAW along with having a strong work ethic and desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. Interns will be expected to assist the Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation and supervision of all training programs. Interns will also have professional development opportunities through completion of internship curriculum assignments. This is a volunteer position, but individuals will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience as well as earn future recommendations for employment. Shippensburg: Shippensburg University is currently seeking qualified volunteer internship candidates for the fall 2017 semester. The fall strength and conditioning program will run from August 7th (Start date flexible) to December 15th. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision and execution of the strength and conditioning program for 20 varsity athletic teams including football and basketball, on floor coaching of student athletes, teaching student athletes safe and proper exercise technique, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and professional development throughout the semester. This is an unpaid position however, the volunteers interns will gain hands on coaching experience in a collegiate setting, education in program design and application, have the potential to earn future recommendations for career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Minimum Qualifications: Strong work ethic, punctuality, enthusiasm, Effective communication skills, Desire to become a collegiate strength and conditioning coach, First Aid, CPR & AED certified. Preferred Qualifications: Pursuing or have attained a bachelor’s or master’s degree in exercise science, kinesiology, exercise physiology or related field, Previous coaching experience in a collegiate, professional or high school setting or competitive collegiate involvement, Pursuing or have attained relevant certifications: SCCC, CSCS, USAW, FMS, etc. Shippensburg University is a public university located in south-central, Pennsylvania about 40 miles southwest of Harrisburg, and 50 miles northwest of Westminster, Maryland. Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for two VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) internship positions. The internship will last from August 23 – December 8. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division I S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff. Northern Michigan: Northern Michigan University is looking to hire an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This person will assist with football and be assigned 4-6 teams. Iowa State: Iowa State University’s Football Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking 2-4 qualified volunteer candidates for the Fall 2017 semester. This is an unpaid position, no monetary compensation will be provided. Candidates must be using this experience working towards ACADEMIC CREDIT at their respective university. No applicants will be accepted if this is not for academic credit. Accepted applicants will gain experience working at the Division I collegiate level with football. Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, and participation in projects and assignments throughout the duration of the semester. Required Certifications: CPR/AED and Preferred Certifications: CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS). The candidate(s) must possess strong communication skills, motivational skills, and must have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional at the collegiate or professional level. Weber State (FCS – UT): The Weber State University Strength and Conditioning Program is looking for (1) highly motivated individual who is interested in a Graduate Internship intended start date July 31 2017. Must have GRE scores and be able to be accepted into a Graduate Program prior to the start date. Compensation will be in the form of a tuition waiver. Qualifications: All applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, or related field. Applicants are required to have their CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must be CPR / First Aid certified. The applicants must have prior experience working for a collegiate strength and conditioning program. Must be able to enter graduate program with no provisions. Duties: Assist with Football and assigned Olympic programs, design and implement training programs, teach and demonstrate lifts/drills, and assist with the maintenance and upkeep of the performance facility. Villanova: Villanova University, is seeking qualified applicants for (2-4) Interns / Volunteer Assistant Strength & Conditioning Coach with Villanova University Athletics for the 2017-2018 season. This is a 9 month, volunteer position that will begin in August and end in May (semester internships also available). There may be opportunities to make income through camps, and clinics. Internships are currently available for the 2017-2018 school year for graduate students or graduating seniors. The Intern / Volunteer Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach will assist the strength and conditioning staff in implementing and supervising all Olympic sports and the Football team. Position Responsibilities: Interns are expected to stay for the entire duration of the internships unless other arrangements have been made. Applicants that require internship for completion of a degree are preferred. Qualifications: CSCS, SCCC, or USAW Certification preferred. Experience in collegiate strength and conditioning preferred. Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science, Physical Education, or related field required.
