Rochester Institute of Technology (D-III – NY): Rochester Institute of Technology’s strength and conditioning department is accepting applications for the position of Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This is a stipend position for $7,500 during the academic year. Projected start date would be October 1st. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting the strength and conditioning staff with the implementation of sport specific injury prevention, strength, speed, agility, flexibility, mobility, conditioning, and weight room monitoring. Potential Candidates: Candidates should have completed a Bachelor’s in a related field. A CSCS certification or a SCCC certification are required along with CPR/First Aid. Charleston Southern: Charleston Southern University Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking applicants for the position of Intern/Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Fall Semester. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidates can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength & Conditioning program, and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. This will be an experience w/ responsibilities assigned based on previous experience determined by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Interns are expected to perform a variety of tasks that include weight room upkeep and maintenance, pre-workout setup, post-workout clean-up, monitor for correct exercise technique, data input, research assignments, weekly athlete weigh ins, extra athlete workouts. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in Exercise Science or a related field, current CPR/AED and First Aid Certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A. Dixie State (D-II – UT): Dixie State University Department of Strength and Conditioning is accepting applications for Fall 2016 intern/ Volunteer strength coaches. This position will have an opportunity to work with all 14 teams at the university. This position will expose coaches to all facets of Athletic Performance. Coaches will receive experience, education and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Coaching qualifications include: punctuality, enthusiasm, and strong work ethic. Preferred qualifications include: SCCC or CSCS certification, CPR/First Aid certification. Old Dominion: The Old Dominion Sports Performance Department is currently accepting applications for the position of Assistant Football Sports Performance Coach. This is a 12 month entry level position. Duties will include, but are not limited to: assisting staff with the daily implementation of football sports performance, assist the Assistant Director of Sports Performance Coach with field hockey and will serve as the primary contact for men’s soccer. Compensation: $16,700 to be paid in monthly stipends. Preferred Qualifications: prior collegiate athletic playing and/or coaching experience, CPR/AED certified, certification or working towards certification through NSCA or CSCCA.
