Coastal Carolina: Coastal Carolina University is now accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning SPRING VOLUNTEER INTERN. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, participation in weekly projects, and professional development throughout the internship program. Intern qualifications include: punctuality; enthusiasm; strong work ethic; and strong communication skills Preferred qualifications include: senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; SCCC, CSCS certification; CPR certification. Interns will receive experience working for a highly competitive Division I University, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Stevenson (MD): Stevenson University in Owings Mills, MD is looking to fill 2-3 VOLUNTEER INTERN positions, no monetary compensation will be provided. Candidates can use this experience working towards class credit at their respective university or to gain further hands on training in the field of collegiate strength and conditioning. The position will require no more than 20 hours a week. The Internship is set to begin January 9 and carry on as long as the end of the Spring Semester. The accepted applicants will gain experience working at the Division III collegiate level specifically with football, men’s and women’s soccer, men’s and women’s lacrosse, and our other varsity teams. Position responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to, the following: setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, running training sessions and programming for teams (if they’re certified) assisting with routine maintenance of training facilities, and participation in projects and assignments throughout the duration of the Internship. Applicants must be certified or working toward certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS) and have current CPR/AED certification. The candidate must possess strong communication skills, motivational skills, and must have a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning professional at the collegiate or professional level. University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee: The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee Olympic Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking high energy, motivated applicants for a Full-Time Strength and Conditioning Internship for the Spring semester of 2017. Candidates that apply must have high intrinsic motivation, strong work ethic, ability to work autonomously in a dynamic environment and possess the singular desire to develop a career as a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. The primary role of this full time (40+ hour) internship is to assist the Strength and Conditioning Department in all areas. Chosen applicant will assist in coaching of teams, be charged with daily responsibilities, and program/manage a sport team’s training with minimal supervision. The applicant will be educated (formally and practically) on all aspects of the training process: strength and power development, energy system specific conditioning, speed and agility, as well as the collegiate strength and conditioning coach profession. Required qualifications: career goal of becoming a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach and previous experience in an Athletics’ Strength and Conditioning Department.  This is an unpaid position, with no compensation/housing available.  Please send resume, cover letter and three references to Matthew Holt-Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach at [email protected] by November 30, 2016.
