South Alabama: The University of South Alabama is accepting applications for the Olympic Sports Volunteer Internship Program for the 2018 summer semester. Qualified candidates will have the opportunity to serve all Olympic Sports, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an unpaid opportunity that provides experience assisting the staff implement individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific, injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates MUST POSSESS an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. Applicants must have current CPR/AED certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Sunday, May 27th 2018, and requires a 2-month time commitment with opportunities to continue pending positive evaluation. Rutgers: Rutgers Olympic Strength and Conditioning department is seeking highly motivated candidates to fill 3 paid internship positions the Fall 2018 semester. Individuals will gain knowledge and experience working in a Division I Collegiate Strength and Conditioning setting. It may fulfill course credit if necessary. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to: assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, daily maintenance of the training facilities, and professional development assignments throughout internship curriculum. Qualification: Currently pursuing bachelors/masters in exercise science or related field, certified in CPR/First Aid, and a strong desire to become a Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coach. Prefer SCCC or CSCS certfication(s). Compensation: contingent on experience. Kent State: The Strength & Conditioning staff at the Kent State University is now accepting applications for its 2018 Summer Semester Internship Program. This is an unpaid position that lasts for the duration of the summer semester with a start date of June 4, 2018. No monetary compensation or housing will be provided. This internship MUST be for the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program, and is also Mentor Approved for those individuals preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification issued by the CSCCa.  Candidates interested in this position should be hardworking, passionate, and detail orientated individuals, who have the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field. They should be working toward certification as a SCCC through the CSCCa, or a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA. Responsibilities will include: Daily clean up and maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for all athletic workouts, and supervision of training sessions. Fordham: Fordham University Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 3-5 Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Interns for Summer 2018. The internship will last from May 28 through July 2018. Interns will gain practical experience working and coaching in a Division 1 S&C environment with 22 Varsity sports, possible future recommendations, and college credit if applicable. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; attributes including hardworking, passionate, detail orientated, and has the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field. Preferred qualifications include certifications from highly regarded governing bodies (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern/coaching experience, and current/previous competitive sport involvement. Applicants should either be working towards or hold a BS/MS in Exercise Science/Kinesiology, or similar field. Responsibilities will include: Daily maintenance of the facility and all its equipment. Setup and break down of weight room and field for all training sessions, and assisting in the coaching of those sessions. Learn and assist with the implementation of Catapult GPS/ Polar Heart Rate technology and data entry. This program will also consist of weekly educational projects and reports to further develop S&C knowledge and coaching ability. This is an UNPAID position. San Jose State: San Jose State University is seeking highly motivated and qualified candidates for the position of VOLUNTEER/INTERN in the Athletic Performance Department for Summer term 2018 (May 21 st – August, 17 th ). The capable candidates will have the opportunity to advance their competence while gaining valuable knowledge and experience in the field of Athletic Performance at a Division 1A institution. Responsibilities for the positions are: assist Athletic Performance staff with all daily maintenance and operational duties, involvement in volunteer/intern professional development program, as well as other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Performance Coach. Required Qualifications: Applicants should have completed a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Exercise Science or a related field and working towards CSCS or SCCC. Must have a strong desire to be involved in Athletic Performance at the collegiate level; proficient in Microsoft Excel; excellent communication skills, both oral and written; excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; must be diligent and willing to learn; adhere to all University, Mountain West Conference and NCAA regulations.
