    Wake Forest: Wake Forest University is accepting applications for volunteer intern coach to contribute to the Football Sports Performance program for the Spring 2015 semester. The successful candidate must display a strong work ethic, positive attitude, and a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional. In addition, they must be committed to enhancing themselves and the department through a continued eagerness to learn and develop professionally. Qualified candidates will serve the Football program as a non-counted coach that will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. Compensation: Division I Intercollegiate experience and college credit towards graduation if applicable. Preferred qualifications: senior status, bachelor’s degree, graduate student or recently graduated in a program geared towards strength and conditioning.     Davidson: The Davidson College Strength and Conditioning department is accepting applications for the Spring Semester of 2015 Athletic Performance Interns. Intern responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Davidson’s 21 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs; assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties; completion of various educational assignments during the internship are required. Intern qualifications must include: Strong work ethic; Desire to learn; Enthusiasm; Desire to become a qualified Strength and Conditioning Coach. Preferred qualifications include: Senior status or completion of a Bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field; eligible to sit for the CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification; CPR certification. Compensation: There is no monetary compensation provided. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours toward a program degree.     Eastern Illinois: Eastern Illinois University is currently accepting applications for the winter/spring 2015 internship program. Duties will include assisting with weight room set up and break down, daily facility maintenance, and coaching for a variety of Division I athletics program (football included). Interns will also participate in the internship development curriculum. Required qualifications include pursuit or completion of a bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field, a strong desire to work in the field of strength and conditioning, a relentless work ethic, and ability to demonstrate excellent communication and organizational skills. Desired qualifications include pursuit or completion of a master’s degree in Exercise Science or related field, and a CSCS, CSCCa, or USAW certification. No monetary compensation will be provided, but candidates selected will be able to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable.     Southwestern University: The Southwestern University Sports Performance department is currently accepting applications for spring 2015 volunteer strength & conditioning intern positions. Duties will include assisting with daily operations & facility maintenance, managing various athletic performance data base programs as well as the completion of various educational assignments. Interns will have the opportunity to receive experience working with all 20 varsity men’s & women’s sports, including football. Candidates selected will be working in a rapidly expanding NCAA DIII environment with the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if applicable. Qualifications: Must be enrolled in an institution of higher education in an exercise related major. Candidates must have a strong desire to become strength and conditioning professionals, must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Possessing or pursuing the CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certifications preferred. No compensation will be provided.     Gardner-Webb: Grad assistant Trevor Hutson has been promoted to a full time post. Tyler Landolt, who previously interned at Alabama and Furman, has accepted a grad assistant role.

    Mercer: Mercer University is currently accepting applications for the position of Intern Strength Coach. This position is responsible for assisting the Director of Strength & Conditioning in all departmental functions including assisting with all aspects of Mercer Football’s Winter/Spring Strength program. Qualifications required are experience with teaching and demonstrating the Olympic lifts, first aid and CPR certified, and an accredited certification or working towards certification (preferably CSCS, USAW, or SCCC). Applicants should have a strong desire to pursue a career as a full time, collegiate strength & conditioning coach. No monetary compensation with be provided but housing is available.     Tulane: Tulane University Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for volunteer interns for the spring semester of 2015. Positions are open for those interested in gaining experience in the field of strength and conditioning. The program can be tailored to an intern’s education, experience, and future professional goals. Job Description: Assist the strength and conditioning staff in all day-to-day operations of the Tulane University Hertz Center weight room. Duties will include but are not limited to; assisting staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for the Olympic sports, set up, and breakdown of training equipment and assisting in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Qualifications: Pursuing or have already completed Bachelors or Master’s Degree in exercise science or a related field. Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level. Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCA, and/or USAW. Compensation: This is an unpaid position.     Marshall: The Marshall University Strength and Conditioning Department (Olympic Sports) is seeking motivated individuals to fill 1-2 volunteer coach positions for the Spring 2015 Semester. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to: Setup, breakdown, and implementation of training programs for 12 intercollegiate teams and assisting with the maintenance and upkeep of the equipment and facility. This is an unpaid position, but the candidate will gain critical experience working and learning in a Division I setting. The internship will begin January 6th, 2015 and will end May 8th, 2015. The candidate must be pursuing or have completed a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or related field and be CPR and First Aid certified. Preferred qualifications: CSCS, USAW, SCCC.     Florida International: Florida International University Strength & Conditioning Department is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Volunteer Intern for Football/Olympic Sports for the spring 2015 semester. The FIU staff is looking for highly motivated, hungry, aspiring strength coaches that want to work at the collegiate level. The program is beneficial for undergraduate students and the post bachelor professional looking for experience; as well as develops characteristics necessary to become a successful strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidates will be required to schedule and maintain a minimum of 40 hours per week with the Strength & Conditioning Department. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. No monetary compensation will be provided. Ideal candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and a certification from one of the following: CSCS; SCCC; USAW but are not required.
