Ole Miss: The University of Mississippi is accepting applications for a Spring 2018 semester internship position that would work with the Football Strength and Conditioning Department. This is an unpaid position that is responsible for assisting the Ole Miss Strength and Conditioning Staff with set up and breakdown of drills and equipment during the off-season program and other departmental functions. This internship program contains an academic portion, which entails multiple readings, as well as a hands on practical portion. Required qualifications include completion of an undergraduate degree in exercise science or a related course of study, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, and possess a strong work ethic. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a nationally credited association (NSCA-CSCS, SCCC), previous coaching in a collegiate setting, First Aid CPR/AED Certified, personal involvement in a collegiate competitive sport, and proficiency in teaching and performing Olympic movements. There is no monetary compensation so if this position is not an economically feasible option for you, please do not apply. Applicant will also be asked to participate in a background check. Cal: The University of California Berkeley Football Strength and Conditioning Program is seeking candidates for the spring 2018 internship program. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football as well as various Olympic sport teams as assigned. This is an UNPAID POSITION but provides the opportunity to learn from 9 experienced strength and conditioning coaches at the FBS Level (Pac-12). Intern responsibilities will include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs, daily facility upkeep as well as participating in various educational assignments during the internship. All internship applicants must be CPR & First Aid certified. Preferred qualifications: Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in a Kinesiology/Exercise Science related field as well as a CSCS/SCCC certification. Tarleton State: The Tarleton State University Athletic Performance Program is accepting internship applications for the Spring 2018 semester, with a starting date on or before January 15, 2018 and an end date of May 15. 2018, with the possibility of continuing into the Summer 2018 semester. The internship hours may be countable toward the CSCCa’s Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified practicum requirements, and/or for college credit if needed. The volunteer internship will involve active experience in an NCAA Division II Athletic Performance program under the supervision of Master Strength and Conditioning Coach Rod Cole and his staff. Qualifications: Applicants should be pursuing strength and conditioning as a profession and possess, or currently be working on, CSCCa, NSCA, or USAW certification. Compensation: This is an educational internship with no monetary compensation provided. However, opportunities for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning are possible for successful interns, with the opportunity to advance to a paid internship for the right candidates.
