Salisbury: The Salisbury University Sports Performance Program is currently accepting applications for 2 Graduate Assistant positions beginning in the Fall of 2017. The graduate assistant positions will begin August 7th and continue through May 18th 2018 with the option for yearly renewal until graduation. This position includes tuition remission along with a $4000 stipend per semester (books and fees not included). JOB DESCRIPTION: Candidates will have the opportunity to coach, develop, and train elite collegiate athletes through creating and implementing both weight training and running/conditioning programs. Candidates will also gain valuable experience managing interns and volunteers along with implementing the Sports Performance strategic plan. Duties will also include recreational facility management located at the Maggs P.A.C. QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants should possess a strong work ethic with a desire to become the best possible performance coach they can become. Passion and enthusiasm for training college athletes should be evident. Possess a strong knowledge base on training methods with previous experience in Olympics lifts. Have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field. Have been admitted into a Graduate Studies Program at Salisbury University. Previous college sports performance coaching experience required. Currently certified or in the process of attaining a national certification: NSCA – CSCS, or CSCCa – SCCC. Southern Utah: Southern Utah is looking to hire an assistant strength and conditioning coach. Looking for an energetic, passionate coach to be a part of Southern Utah University Strength Staff. Part Time Position Job Responsibilities: Design and implement programs for designated teams within the Strength and Conditioning Department. Assist with Football. Maintain knowledge and ensure compliance with NCAA, Big Sky Conference and all other rules and regulations within Strength and Conditioning. Other duties as assigned by the Director of Strength and Conditioning. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related field. CPR / AED certified. Current certification through one or more of the following organizations: NSCA (CSCS), CSCCa (SCCC), USAW. Experience at the collegiate level within a strength and conditioning department is preferred. Must be knowledgeable in coaching and implementing programs involving speed, strength, flexibility, mobility and injury prevention. Southern University and A&M College (LA): Southern University and A&M College (Baton Rouge, La) is accepting applications for a PAID Strength and Conditioning internship for the 2017 Spring Semester. The position will run from January 17th through early May. Interns will be hands on in working with 13 Division 1 athletics programs, and are expected to contribute at a high level from the first day. This position will include a monthly stipend of $1,500. Candidates should have or be working toward any of the following certifications: SCCC, CSCS & USAW. Experience working in a college weight room setting and CPR certification is also preferred. Cal State LA: Cal State LA is looking to hire a graduate assistant beginning in the Fall Semester of 2017. Minimum qualifications: Degree-seeking graduate student in the School of Kinesiology and Nutritional Science: graduate assistants must be registered in a CSU graduate degree program and must be enrolled in courses towards the completion of that graduate degree during the appointment period. Applicants should have the ability to relate well to others within the academic environment, and demonstrate ability and/or interest in working in a multiethnic, multicultural environment. The applicant must be motivated to foster the athletic capacities of student-athletes, possess a high desire to pursue a Strength and Conditioning career in collegiate/professional sports, and be able to adhere to the rules and regulations of California State University, Los Angeles, the CCAA, and the NCAA. Preferred qualifications: CPR/AED; one or more of the following certifications: SCCC, CSCS, ASCA-2 or UKSCA; and one or more of the following certifications: USAW, AWF, or BWL. Undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field and 1-2 years of Strength and Conditioning experience. Duties: Under the general supervision of the faculty member, the Graduate Assistant will design, implement, schedule and conduct strength and conditioning programs for 3-4 NCAA II sports. In addition, this position will assist with the daily operation and maintenance of the strength facilities, assist in the strength & conditioning program with other sports and complete other duties as assigned by the Head Coach. The selected candidate will also assist in the teaching of up to 6 units per semester within the School of Kinesiology and Nutritional Science.
