    University of Mary (D-II – ND): The University of Mary Strength and Conditioning Department is seeking an applicant for graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach. The successful candidate will assist with the implementation of strength training programs for all sports and will be assigned his/her own sports, as capable. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: assisting the head strength and conditioning coach with the design and implementation of sport-specific strength, speed, and agility programs; weight room supervision; daily upkeep and maintenance of equipment; communication with coaches and other duties as assigned by the head strength and conditioning coach.This is a two year position that requires a bachelor’s degree, admission to the graduate program and certification through the CSCCA, NSCA, or USA Weightlifting . Compensation includes an annual stipend and graduate school tuition.     Eastern Michigan: Eastern Michigan University Sports Performance is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Summer 2015 semester. The internship will begin Sunday May 3rd and will end on Saturday August 3rd 2015. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, USAW certifications; CPR certification. One year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletics experience. Compensation: This is a non-paid position. Those accepted into the program will receive Coach McKeefery’s nationally recognized internship curriculum, practical strength and conditioning experience, and career mentorship. Hours completed can be applied toward undergraduate/graduate internship requirements and/or the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association certification practicum requirement.     Eastern Washington (FCS): Start Something Big with Eastern Washington University! We are currently seeking an Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach. This position will be housed in the athletic department and will report to the assigned supervisor and ultimately the Athletic Director. This position will work with several of the 14 Division I sport offerings as assigned. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to collaborate with the Head Strength and Conditioning coach to design, organize, implement, facilitate, oversee and evaluate all facets of the Athletic Strength and Conditioning Program. This includes the education and monitoring of assigned sport teams while working within a shared facility. This position will work closely with the Physical Education department, equipment staff, sports medicine staff, classified staff, and with the Athletic Compliance Coordinator. Will also work collaboratively with relevant constituent groups. This position may provide input to the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach in evaluating all aspects of the program as it relates to the student-athletes. The position will be encouraged to provide insight into possible improvements that can be made for all. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to inform and educate the assigned sport staffs about all policies and procedures integral to strength and conditioning. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach to insure that they have collaborated with the assigned Sports Medicine Staff to thoroughly communicate about the coverage plan and emergency medical procedures for on and off-season conditioning and lifting. It is the responsibility of the Assistant Strength Coach to communicate with their direct supervisor to assure job requirements are being met. This position will have an annual review by the Head Strength Coach and the assigned administrative supervisor.

Applicants must be able to maintain a thorough knowledge of NCAA and institutional rules, regulations and policies. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with a minimum of one (1) year of experience working in collegiate Strength and Conditioning or a related area.

     Must possess one of the following certifications: 1. CSCS (National Strength and Conditioning Association Certification)-CSCS (Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist) 2. SCCC (Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified). Also needs to be First Aid/CPR/AED certified within the first 30 days of employment. Candidates must demonstrate interest, ability and/or experience promoting cultural competency and/or diversity. Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field with three 3 years of collegiate experience (minimum of two (2) of those years in Division I) working as an Assistant Strength and Conditioning coach. Extra preference will be given to those who are currently working on their Master’s Degree in a related field.
