Fresno State: Fresno State University is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER Intern Coaches to contribute to the Program. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include current CPR/ AED certification, as well as achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and SCCC or CSCS certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 4th 2018, and requires a 3-month time commitment with the potential to extend the internship throughout the Fall Semester. During this time period, interns will receive experience working at the Division 1 level, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. Northern State: Northern State University: Northern State University (Aberdeen, SD) is currently accepting applications for a Graduate Assistant in Strength and Conditioning. Compensation includes a two thirds tuition waiver and a monthly stipend. Candidates must be admissible to the graduate program, GRE is not required. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, assisting in design and implementation of strength and conditioning programs for assigned sports, communication with coaches, athletic training staff and administration. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or a health related field and be working toward certification as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the National Strength & Conditioning Association or the SCCC through the CSCCa. Previous strength and conditioning internship experience preferred. Saint Francis (NAIA – IL): The University of St. Francis in Joliet, IL seeks applicants for a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coordinator. This individual will lead the strength and conditioning efforts for all sports at USF and manage the on-campus fitness center. Candidates must have two years of strength and conditioning experience, possess a Bachelor’s degree, and be able to gain admission into one of USF’s masters programs. Possession of an NSCA certification (CSCS) is preferred. Compensation will include a small stipend as well as tuition for graduate classes and reduced housing.
