Nova Southeastern (D-II – FL): Nova Southeastern University, a member of the NCAA Division II and the Sunshine State Conference located in Fort Lauderdale, FL, is currently accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant for Strength & Conditioning. The Graduate Assistant reports directly to the Director of Sports Performance, while working collaboratively as a member of the NSU Sports Medicine Interdisciplinary Team. The position is responsible for assisting the Strength and Conditioning staff in all departmental functions. The successful candidate will have full responsibility of 2-4 teams and will assist with the implementation of strength training, conditioning, speed/agility, flexibility and recovery workouts for all 17 NSU athletic teams. The successful applicant will have the opportunity to complete the CSCCa mentorship program and be eligible to sit for the SCCC certification exam after their 1st year. Qualifications: The GA positions are required to work up to but not limited to 35 hours per week, which include flexible hours, evenings and weekends. GA positions work 12-month, renewable contracts. Graduate Assistants must be enrolled at a full time status (6 credits per semester) and be in good academic standing throughout their employment. Fresno State: Fresno State University is accepting applications for VOLUNTEER Intern Coaches to contribute to the Program. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football, and will have the opportunity to assist in all training sessions in compliance with NCAA rules. This is an UNPAID opportunity that provides experience assisting the Football Strength and Conditioning Staff with the implementation of individualized, comprehensive, sport-specific injury prevention and performance enhancement programs. Potential candidates must possess an enthusiastic spirit, strong character, a desire to become a strength and conditioning professional and demonstrate effective organization and communication skills. Required qualifications include current CPR/ AED certification, as well as achievement or current pursuit of a Bachelor’s Degree in Exercise Science or related course of study and CSCS or SCCC certification. This internship is expected to begin no later than Monday, June 4th 2018, and requires a 3-month time commitment with the potential to extend the internship throughout the Fall Semester. During this time period, interns will receive experience working at the Division 1 level, have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities and receive college credit if applicable. Wright State (D-I – OH): Wright State University is seeking two (2) volunteer Strength and Conditioning interns for the summer of 2018. This is an UNPAID position. Accepted applicants will receive practical hands-on experience in strength and conditioning at the Division 1 level, as well as the opportunity to participate in the intern education curriculum. Required qualifications: First Aid/CPR/AED training, the desire to become a strength and conditioning professional, a strong work ethic, the ability to commit to AT LEAST 20 hours per week, and effective communication and teamwork skills. Preferred Qualifications: CSCS, SCCC, or USAW certification, or in the process of obtaining any or all of the aforementioned certifications, and previous coaching experience. Responsibilities: Assist full time coaches in implementing programs, set up and break down of training sessions, weight room maintenance and upkeep, intern curriculum assignments and projects, and any other tasks or projects assigned by staff as they arise. Millsaps College (D-III – MS): Millsaps College’s Department of Strength and Conditioning is now accepting applications for 1-2 Strength and Conditioning Intern Coaches for the Spring Semester of 2018 with possible continuation for the summer semester. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for Football and all Olympic Sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities and participation in weekly projects and professional development throughout the internship program. Candidates will have the opportunity to program, implement, and supervise a strength and conditioning program for some assigned sports. HOUSING AND SOME MEALS may be provided. No monetary compensation will be provided.
Ideal candidates must have a bachelor’s degree or be in the last semester of coursework for an undergraduate degree in exercise science or related field of study.
