East Tennessee State: East Tennessee State is looking for a hard working, enthusiastic volunteer intern who is confident, has a presence and is able to assist with coaching Division I football student-athletes for the fall 2017 semester. The person chosen for this position must be able to be available for the Fall Semester. This is an UNPAID position, in which the successful candidate can receive academic credit if applicable, experience working with a Division 1 Strength and consideration for a recommendation for future employment in the strength and conditioning field throughout the country. Candidates must be completing or have completed a degree in exercise science or a related field, current CPR/AED and first aid certification. The successful candidates should have a strong desire to not only pursue strength and conditioning coaching as a career, but to also obtain strength and conditioning coaching certifications from the CSCCA or the NSCA. A SCCCa 640-hour mentorship can be completed during this internship. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the strength staff. Successful candidates should have competed in a varsity sport at the High School or Collegiate level to have a better understanding of what it takes to compete and train as an athlete. UNC Charlotte: University of North Carolina Charlotte is now accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning VOLUNTEER INTERNS for the Fall and Spring Semesters. Daily responsibilities will include but are not limited to; assisting with supervision and execution of strength training programs for various sports, teaching student athletes proper technique and equipment use, attending to the daily maintenance of the training facilities, participation in weekly projects, and professional development throughout the internship program. Intern qualifications include: punctuality; enthusiasm; strong work ethic; presence; and strong communication skills Preferred qualifications include: senior status or completion of a bachelor’s degree in exercise science or related field w related experience and completion or seeking a SCCC or CSCS certification; CPR certification. Interns will receive experience working for a Division I University in Conference USA and have the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Yale: The Yale Football Sports Performance Staff is seeking qualified and hardworking individuals with a strong passion for College Football and Sport Performance, to fill Spring 2018 internship positions with the Yale Football Team and in the Varsity Weight-Room. These positions are unpaid, but provide valuable experience, and will begin around the second week of January 2018. Preferred candidates should be working towards a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in or related to the field of Exercise Science. An CSCCa- SCCC, NSCA-CSCS, or USAW Certification is preferred but not required.
