University of Northern Colorado: The University of Northern Colorado Strength & Conditioning Department is actively seeking applicants for internship positions working with all Sports within our program for the 2015 Fall and Spring Term (Sep. 1 – May. 18). The intent of the internship is to provide a year of hands-on training to prepare the candidate to take on the next level position in strength and conditioning as either a graduate assistant or full-time strength coach. Interns are expected to participate in a comprehensive educational program, including white board discussion and hands-on experience in the following areas: program design, exercise instruction, Olympic lifting progressions and techniques, plyometric, speed and agility techniques, energy system development, regeneration methods, nutritional basics, and facility and athlete management. Internship responsibilities will include various duties within the UNC Strength & Conditioning Department. Hours will vary throughout the semester and may include early morning, late afternoon, or weekend hours. Previous weight room or athletic coaching experience is a plus. Compensation: NON MONETARY Continual educational resources, access to networking opportunities, potential future recommendation for professional advancement and continuing mentorship beyond completion of the internship. Wyoming: The Department of Sports Performance for Athletics at the University of Wyoming is accepting resumes for Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Interns for Football. These positions will begin immediately for the Fall Semester of 2015. These are unpaid Internships. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or seeking formal internship requirements for the completion of an undergraduate or master’s degree. Strong desires to not only pursue strength and conditioning coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS). Desired Qualifications: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field. Knowledge and experience in the implementation of strength and conditioning programming for college level athletes. All selected interns will have the opportunity to obtain practicum requirements needed for the Strength and Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) by an approved CSCCa mentor, Zach Duval.
