Florida State: Florida State is seeking applicants for the 2018 Spring Semester Internship Program. After candidate selection, interns will be responsible for weekly presentations to the full-time staff and weekly reading/research assignments. Interns will sit in on weekly staff presentations and participate in hands-on sessions directed by the strength staff. The subject matter includes weekly discussions and projects over assessing your athletes and pre-session readiness, understanding different models and methods of periodization and programming, resistance training variables, movement classification and selection, Olympic lifting, energy system development, power training, linear speed development, and other various topics. Responsibilities for the internship also include session set-up and breakdown, cleaning and upkeep of facility, spotting and working with specified student-athletes and/or small groups. You must be able to commit 30 hours per week throughout the semester to qualify.  These positions are on a volunteer basis and can fulfill class credit if necessary.  CSCS/SCCC certification strongly preferred but not necessary.  If these positions are not economically feasible, please do not apply. Southwest Minnesota State: Southwest Minnesota State University: Southwest Minnesota State University is currently accepting applications for sports performance interns starting in the SPRING OF 2018 academic year. This position requires the drive to specialize in any sport assigned. This internship will start January 5th, 2017 and finish May 15th, 2018. This is an UNPAID position. This position provides candidates with hands on experience coaching in a Division II college setting with the potential to earn recommendations for future career opportunities. Qualifications: Candidates should be certified in First Aid/CPR/AED and be pursuing CSCS, SCCC, CSCCa, USAW certifications. Applicants will also have the potential to sit for the SCCC upon completion of internship. Applicants must be prepared to work extensive hours and have a highly flexible schedule. Applicants will work with all teams based on needs. Job description: Daily maintenance of equipment and weight room, assiting various sports teams under the direct supervision of the Director of Sports Performance, professional development throughout the internship, and completion of intern curriculum. Requirements: Applicants must possess a relentless work-ethic with a strong desire to pursue a career in strength and conditioning, highly motivated, be punctual, enthusiastic, and willingness to succed through all and any adversity.
