South Florida: The USF Department of Athletic Performance is accepting applications for the position of Strength and Conditioning Interns for the SPRING 2017 semester. The successful candidates will be working with Football and a variety of Olympic sports. Compensation: Division 1 experience with earned recommendation for future career opportunities. No monetary compensation will be provided. Must have a strong work-ethic and a desire to become a strength and conditioning coach. Arkansas State: The Arkansas State University Department of Strength & Conditioning is currently accepting applications for a Volunteer Intern Strength & Conditioning Coach. This is an unpaid position that will last for the duration of the 2017 Spring Semester with an estimated start date of January 17, 2017. This internship can be used for course credits. This internship is also Mentor Approved for those individuals preparing to complete the required hours for the SCCC certification issued by the CSCCa. An educational curriculum will be provided as well as practical experience working with all student-athletes at Arkansas State. Interested applicants must exhibit effective communication skills, positive energy, attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and a willingness to work. Responsibilities will be assigned as they are earned. Preferred qualifications include a completed Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science or a related field and a certification through the CSCCa/NSCA. Villanova: Villanova University is currently accepting applications for volunteer football strength and conditioning interns for Winter/Spring 2017. Starting January 8 – ending May 5. QUALIFICATIONS: Must be enrolled in or have completed a Bachelor’s degree program; Must have CPR/AED/First Aid certification. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: (1) CSCS and/or SCCC certification; (2) Experience competing in intercollegiate athletics or (3) experience working in a collegiate strength and conditioning facility. This is an unpaid position. However, volunteers will receive experience working at a Division I program, receive Nike athletic apparel, some meals will be provided, gain a better understanding of program design, have the potential to earn a paid internship position, earn recommendations for future career opportunities, and receive college credit if, applicable.
