    Rice: The Department of Strength and Conditioning for Athletics at Rice University is accepting applications and resumes for Volunteer Strength and Conditioning Interns for Olympic Sports. These positions will begin immediately for the Spring, Summer and Fall Semesters of 2015. These are unpaid Internships. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS. Bachelor’s degree or seeking hourly or formal internship requirements for the completion of an undergraduate or master’s degree. A strong desire to not only pursue Strength and Conditioning Coaching as a career, but to also obtain Strength and Conditioning Coaching Certifications either from the C.S.C.C.A. or the N.S.C.A.     Vanderbilt: Former Nebraska strength coach James Dobson has been offered the head strength position at Vanderbilt pending formal clearances per sources. Jesse Johnson first reported the news this evening.

    Elon: Elon University Strength and Conditioning is looking for qualified strength and conditioning interns for the Spring 2015 semester. The internship will begin February 2nd and run through May 12th. Responsibilities include: assisting with the supervision and training of Elon University’s 16 Division I intercollegiate athletic programs, assisting with daily administrative and maintenance duties. This is an unpaid internship. However, candidates will receive Division I Intercollegiate experience, college credit towards graduation if applicable and be involved in the CSCCa mentorship program necessary to achieve the SCCC certification. Preferred qualifications: Pursuing Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in exercise physiology or related field; NSCA-CSCS or USAW certifications; CPR certification. Experience in a Strength and Conditioning Program or have previous collegiate athletics experience is preferred. Having a background in performing and coaching Olympic lifts is preferred.     Hawaii: The University of Hawaii Football Team is in need of volunteer interns to assist with the Spring Strength and Conditioning Program. The position begins the week of January 12-17 and will run until the first week of May. The duties include the set up/break down of lifts, maintenance of the training facility and assisting with the implementation of performance training for D-1 football athletes. Applicants MUST be hardworking, intelligent and willing to learn our system. There is NO monetary compensation for the position, however, this is a unique internship where qualified applicants will have a rare opportunity to truly COACH and have an impact on student athletes.     Buffalo: The State University of New York football strength and conditioning staff is seeking highly motivated, hardworking candidates for a strength and conditioning internship for the Spring 2015 Semester. Duties will include assisting the strength and conditioning staff with all aspects of the athletic performance program as well as daily maintenance of weight room and facilities. This is an unpaid position, living and transportation arrangements will not be provided.
