Southwest Minnesota State (D-II): Southwest Minnesota State University is seeking volunteer Strength and Conditioning interns for the fall of 2018. This is an UNPAID position, with local jobs available. Accepted applicants will receive hands-on experience in strength and conditioning, and the ability to lead training regimens under supervision. You will be expected to clean, organize, and maintain weight-room. Nothing more than I do weekly. IF YOU WORK FOR ME I WILL WORK FOR YOU. Last intern secured GA position with University of Toledo. Rutgers: Rutgers University Football program is currently accepting volunteer internship applications for the Fall 2018 season. This is a non-paid internship. Looking for highly motivated individuals who are willing to learn and gain knowledge about strength & conditioning, programming, and coaching experience. Responsibilities include facility maintenance and up keep, coaching/training observation, and professional development (continuing education, readings, assignments, working towards certifications). Other responsibilities include assisting the football strength staff with weight room set up/break down, and recording data daily/weekly. Should be certified in CPR/AED and working towards certifications from any of the following organizations: CSCCa, NCSA, or USAW.  Interested applicants should include a cover letter, resume, and 3 references. South Florida: The University of South Florida Strength and Conditioning Program is seeking candidates for the fall 2018 internship program. Qualified candidates will work directly with Football as well as various Olympic sport teams as assigned. This is an UNPAID POSITION. Intern responsibilities will include: Assisting with the supervision of training programs, daily facility upkeep as well as participating in various educational assignments throughout the internship. Preferred qualifications: CPR & First Aid certified, Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in a Kinesiology/Exercise Science related field as well as a CSCS/SCCC certification. Illinois: Illinois Department of Strength & Conditioning is now accepting applications for a part- time (non – benefitted) 1 year Strength & Conditioning Coach position. The selected candidate will start approximately August 1st, 2018, start date may vary. The position requires a minimum of 20 hours per week. Financial compensation for the position will based on experience. You will also be required to pass background check. The candidate will have the opportunity to obtain Practicum Hourly Requirements needed to be Strength & Conditioning Coach Certified (SCCC) from the CSCCa by an approved Master Strength Coach. Florida A&M: Florida A&M University is now accepting applications for its 2018 Summer/Fall internship. Interns will work closely with football, basketball and track and field. The Florida A&M Internship Program is a VOLUNTARY position and NO housing or monetary compensation will be provided. We are looking for a group of hardworking and dependable people to help provide quality strength training for our student-athletes. Build your resume with hands-on experience in program implementation and other in-depth responsibilities. Learn the inner workings of a Division-1 program and work for coaches who blend tradition with scientific foundation. Applicants should be pursuing or have a certification through the NSCA, CSCCa, or equivalent. Applicants MUST beCPR/AED certified or be able to obtain upon start of internship. A degree in Exercise Science or equivalent background is strongly encouraged. Former athletic experience in Football, Basketball, and Track and Field is also encouraged. Citadel: The Citadel is currently accepting applications for two VOLUNTEER Strength & Conditioning (S&C) interns for Fall 2018. The internship will last from August 22 – December 7. Interns will gain practical experience working in a Division 1 S&C environment under the guidance of an approved CSCCa mentor. Minimum requirements include CPR, AED, and First Aid certifications; an unwavering work ethic, a desire to become an industry professional, the ability to adjust to a demanding work schedule, and effective communication and leadership skills in a group setting. Other preferred qualifications include certification from a recognized governing body (NSCA, ACSM, USAW, CSCCa, etc.), previous intern or coaching experience, personal involvement in a competitive sport, and proficiency with computer productivity applications. Responsibilities will include assisting with team training sessions, daily, weekly, and semester long professional development assignments, facility maintenance, and other tasks as designated by the S&C staff.
