Tennessee: The University of Tennessee Strength and Conditioning Department is currently accepting applications for (3) Unpaid Strength and Conditioning Internship positions for Summer 2015 to work with Football and Olympic Sports. All applicants must be highly motivated individuals with a strong work ethic that want to pursue a career in collegiate strength and conditioning. This internship will provide the opportunity to gain experience working with a Division 1 College Program. These positions will begin June 1st. Campbell University (NC): Campbell University’s Strength and Conditioning Department is currently seeking qualified intern candidates for the Summer of 2015. Internship will begin May 19th and end July 31st. This is an unpaid position. No monetary compensation with be provided. However, accepted applicants may be able to receive college credit and a recommendation for future employment upon completion of the internship. Intern responsibilities will consist of but are not limited to observation of strength coaches, setting up and breaking down of equipment for training sessions, maintenance responsibilities, data entry, clerical duties, active participation in projects and assignments throughout internship, and assisting strength coaches as needed during training sessions. Applicants must be certified or working toward certification with the CSCCa (SCCC) or the NSCA (CSCS) and have current CPR/AED certification. Candidates must possess strong communication and motivational skills as well as the ability and commitment to work within the mission and purpose of Campbell University. Candidates must have a desire to learn more about the strength and conditioning profession, have knowledge of multi-joint strength movements, Olympic lifts, and basic knowledge of the human anatomy. Central Arkansas: The Strength & Conditioning staff at the University of Central Arkansas is now accepting applications for its 2015 Summer Internship Program. This is an unpaid position. No monetary compensation will be provided. However, the position offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength & conditioning, as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. Candidates interested in this position should be hardworking, passionate, and detail orientated individuals, who have the desire to work in the strength & conditioning field at the collegiate level. Applicants should hold a BA/BS in Exercise Science or a Health Related field or in their Senior year. They should be working toward certification as a SCCC through the CSCCa, or a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist with the NSCA. Cal: The University of California Football Strength and Conditioning Department is now accepting applications for a Volunteer Intern for the Summer of 2015. The internship begins May 25th and ends July 31. This is an unpaid position, however, the position offers the opportunity for advancement in the field of strength and conditioning through earned future recommendation, along with coaching apparel and the opportunity to eat at daily team meals. The intern that is selected will also accumulate internship hours toward CSCCa Certification under a certified mentor. Daily responsibilities include, but are not limited to: assisting with the supervision of the Cal Football team, set up and breakdown for daily strength and conditioning activities, routine maintenance, cleaning and organization of the training facility, filming and inputting data, as well as the opportunity to gain hands on coaching experience by assisting with the strength and conditioning program for Olympic sports of the Head Strength & Conditioning Coach’s choosing. Bradley: The Bradley University Department of Intercollegiate Athletics is seeking a highly motivated, dedicated professional for the position of Assistant Sport Performance Coach. This is a 12-month, part-time, entry level position. A Bachelor’s degree is required; Master’s degree preferred. One to three years of strength and conditioning experience in a collegiate environment is also preferred. Louisiana: The University of Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns Strength & Conditioning Department is seeking 5 highly motivated, intelligent, adventurous, and ambitious interns to serve in a VOLUNTARY role in the 2015 Summer Football Conditioning program.
