TCU: Fall semester August - December 2010. Internship progam. Internships through the TCU Strength & Conditioning department are available to those who would like to pursue a career in Strength & Conditioning. The TCU Strength & Conditioning Department is a teaching department that offers our interns hands-on experience as well as prepares them to become qualified Strength & Conditioning professionals. Interns will have the opportunity to work with all sixteen (16) of TCU's Men's and Women's sports totaling more than 400 student-athletes. We believe in providing a comprehensive education as the department is headed by Don Sommer, a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach. COMPENSATION: This is a non-paid position but offers the opportunity of advancement in the field of strength and conditioning as well as the fulfillment of credit hours towards a degree program. QUALIFICATIONS: Working towards a certification through NSCA, or CSCCa. Desire to make strength and conditioning your desired profession.
One year of previous experience in a strength and conditioning program or have previous collegiate athletic experience. Pursuit of Bachelor's degree or already possess a Bachelor's degree. Arizona State University: Sports Performance Internship. Job Description: Assist the ASU Sports Performance staff in the day-to-day operations of the Arizona State University varsity weight rooms. Duties will include but are not limited to; assist the sports performance staff in the implementation of strength and conditioning programs for 21 varsity sports, instruction of safe and proper execution of all facets of athletic development, and assist in the maintenance and upkeep of the facility. Qualifications: Pursuing Bachelors in exercise science or a related field.  Experience in a collegiate setting, and a strong desire to become a strength and conditioning coach at the collegiate level.  Certification or working towards certifications with the NSCA-CSCS, CSCCa, and/or USAW. Dartmouth College: seeks qualified students for a position of strength and conditioning intern for Fall 2010. Under the supervision of the head strength and conditioning coach, the intern will assist in providing instruction and supervision of training sessions, implement and possibly design strength and conditioning programs, provide daily maintenance of equipment and facility, and participate in a continuing education program facilitated by the strength and conditioning coaches. The individual must demonstrate an ability to teach and critique exercise technique (such as Olympic lifting). He/She must demonstrate leadership, organizational and communication skills. He/She must be willing to work both independently and as a member of the strength and conditioning staff. FIU: Strength and Conditioning Intern.  F.I.U.  has internship openings for the 2010 Fall in their strength and conditioning department.  F.I.U. competes in the Sun Belt Conference and is located in Miami, FL.  This is an unpaid internship.  All interns will be given the opportunity to work hands on with Division 1 athletes on a daily basis.  You will have an opportunity to develop your knowledge of speed development, olympic lifting techniques, nutritional prescription, and rehab progressions.  Head Strength Coach Roderick Moore is an official mentor for the CSCCa for those pursuing a future certification.   Interns must be available to work 15-30 hours a week within the department.  Highly motivated and successful interns will be considered for a Graduate Assistant position for the future.  Please send a cover letter, resume, and three references to Ryan Horton, Internship and G.A. Nova Southeastern University: a member of the Sunshine State Conference located in Fort Lauderdale, Fl is currently accepting applications for the position of Graduate Assistant Strength Coach. This position is looking to be filled as soon as possible. The position is responsible in assisting the Head Strength and Conditioning Coach and Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach in all departmental functions. The Successful candidate will have full responsibility of two to three teams and will assist with the implementation of strength training, conditioning, speed/agility, flexibility and recovery workouts for all 17 athletic teams in our new brand new 5,500sq ft Athletic Weight Room. Qualifications: The GA positions require 30-35 hours per week, may include flexible hours, evenings and weekends, and are 10-month renewable contracts.
