Pay disparity: Have a look at what an elite FCS job pays vs. a group of 5 job.

NC State: With Curt Cignetti getting the JMU job (where sources told us Des Kitchings was a candidate), NC State has now announced Kitchings and George McDonald have been promoted to co-offensive coordinators. Kitchings will continue to work with the running backs and McDonald will continue coaching receivers the release notes.

Akron: Source tells FootballScoop Akron has finalized their deal with Tom Arth.

Austin Peay (FCS – TN): Source tells FootballScoop Nicholls (FCS – LA) defensive line coach Maquase Lovings will join Mark Hudspeth’s staff (position TBD). Before joining the Nicholls staff for the 2017 season he previously spent seven seasons at Louisiana Lafayette.

Miami: Mark Richt has named Ephraim Banda and Jonathan Patke co-defensive coordinators and promoted defensive line coach Jess Simpson to associate head coach.

USC: Sources tell FootballScoop Oregon State defensive backs coach Greg Burns is joining the USC staff in the same capacity. We are told Angie Machado has also reported the same.

Austin Peay (FCS – TN): Source tells FootballScoop Mark Hudspeth is hiring former Texas Tech head strength coach Rusty Whitt.

James Madison (FCS – VA): Elon (FCS – NC) head coach Curt Cignetti has agreed to become head coach at James Madison.

Colorado: Source tells FootballScoop Mel Tucker and Jay Johnson are planning to hire former UNC offensive coordinator / offensive line Chris Kapilovic.

Temple: Baylor corners coach Fran Brown is expected to join Manny Diaz’ staff at Temple tweets Matt Vender of OwlScoop. Source tells FootballScoop Brown is expected to have a title along the lines of assistant head coach / co-defensive coordinator.

Colorado School of Mines (D-II): Colorado School of Mines, in Golden, has an OC/QB Position opening. Salary commensurate with experience and includes full benefits package. Candidates must have play calling experience at the college level. Computer/video knowledge and ability with Hudl & other programs is required. Send resume and references to: [email protected]

Army: Former Georgia Tech defensive coordinator Nate Woody is joining the staff as defensive coordinator, per Adam Rittenberg.

FAU: Sources tell FootballScoop Lane Kiffin has his new defensive coordinator.

James Madison: A look at the candidates (per sources) for the JMU head coaching position. JMU would like to have their guy this weekend.

Akron: Sources tell FootballScoop that Chattanooga head coach Tom Arth will accept the same position at Akron. More details here.

Hard to believe: After leading his team to back to back state championship appearances (including this past weekend), high school coach was fired…for what now???

Utah State: Sources tell FootballScoop that former Western Kentucky head coach Mike Sanford is joining Gary Andersen’s staff as offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Delta State (D-II – MS): Delta State University has an immediate opening for a defensive graduate assistant. Duties include Assisting with coaching a position, recruiting an assigned area, video breakdown of games and practices on HUDL, academic monitoring, administrative duties, and any other duties assigned by the Head Coach. Looking for the best candidate available. Must have GRE to be admitted into graduate school. This position will provide housing, meals, and graduate school tuition along with a small stipend each month. College playing experience and/or previous coaching experience is preferred. Lake Erie (D-II – OH): Reilly Murphy, the offensive coordinator at Fayetteville State (D-II – NC), has been named the program’s new head coach. Murphy previously served as offensive coordinator at Dixie State (D-II – CO), and Western New Mexico (D-II) and has prior coaching stops at Bethel (NAIA – KS), Notre Dame College (D-II – OH), and Grossmont College.

Fort Scott (JC – KS): Fort Scott CC is looking for a full-time secondary coach, the current secondary coach was promoted to defensive coordinator. This position comes with free meals but NO housing. You’ll be in charge of coaching all of the secondary and will run your own position meetings. You’ll be in charge of your own recruiting area of High School prospects and will be able to network with other colleges that come into Fort Scott to recruit junior college prospects. Minnesota: The Gophers have now announced the contract extension for PJ Fleck taking him through the 2024 season.

Texas State: Morris Berger has been announced as tight ends coach. Berger spent last season in an offensive quality control role at Oklahoma State.

Kansas: Mike Ekeler, who worked with Les Miles at LSU, has joined the staff as special teams coordinator. Ekeler msot recently coached the linebackers at North Carolina and previously served as defensive coordinator at North Texas.

Georgia Military College (JC): Source tells FootballScoop offensive line coach Nate Baker will not return.

Sacramento State (FCS): Sac State is close to making their hire sources tell FootballScoop. A look at the guys they are interested in (per sources).

Minnesota: PJ Fleck is getting a 1-year contract extension taking him through the 2023 season, per the Pioneer Press. A formal vote by the board of regents and announcement is expected today. Back in January of 2017, Fleck agreed to a five-year $18 million contract, and he received a one-year extension about this time last year as well.

Rocky Mountain College (NAIA – MT): Southwestern Oklahoma State offensive line coach Chris Stutzriem has been named head coach at Rocky Mountain.

St. Cloud State (D-II – MN): St. Cloud State has an opening for an offensive restricted earnings coach. Bachelor’s degree required. Pay is $10,000 – no benefits. Learn more and apply here.

Auburn: Gus Malzahn says, contrary to all those local reports from late November, that no one ever approached him about adjusting his contract terms. Quite a read.

Masters of Sports Administration: Upper Iowa’s MSA degree provides learners with the current theories, concepts, and learning models necessary to assume administrative, coaching and leadership roles in high school, higher education and sports business settings. The online degree is available with emphasis in Sports Management or Coaching & Leadership Eduction.

Maryland: Have a look at Mike Locksley’s contract terms, which include a very unique provision.

North Dakota State: NDSU has their new head coach.

Utah State: Source tells FootballScoop Gary Andersen is hiring Utah linebackers / co-special teams coordinator Justin Ena as his defensive coordinator. At his introductory press conference Andersen spoke glowingly about his planned defensive coordinator hire saying he had planned to call the D himself until this person told him he would come. Big hire for Gary. Source tells FootballScoop Gary Andersen also has his head strength coach.
