Purdue: Auburn defensive backs coach Greg Brown will join the staff as cornerbacks coach, according to multiple reports. Brown coached previously at Purdue from 1989-90.

Buffalo: Benedictine (D-III – IL) head coach Brad McCaslin, who took the job in the spring of 2018, has stepped down to join the Buffalo staff. Prior to taking the Benedictine job, McCaslin spent two seasons in Buffalo on Lance Leipold’s staff where he spent time as a director of player personnel and a defensive analyst.

Benedictine (D-III – IL): A national search is underway for the program’s new head coach.

Allegheny (D-III – PA): Former Old Dominion defensive coordinator Rich Nagy has been named head coach of the program. This is a homecoming for Nagy, who has previously served as assistant coach, and associate head coach for the program.

Michigan State: Michigan State has extended Mark Dantonio through 2025, according to RJ Wolcott of the Lansing State Journal. Dantonio is 107-51 in 12 seasons at Michigan State, and went 7-6 in 2018. The 2025 will take Dantonio through his 19th season at Michigan State and his 69th birthday.

Georgia: Dan Lanning will be promoted to Georgia’s defensive coordinator spot, among a series of promotions for Kirby Smart’s eight returning assistants, according to Seth Emerson of The Athletic. Details here.

Georgia State: Western Carolina (FCS) offensive coordinator Brad Glenn will be the new offensive coordinator at Georgia State, a source tells FootballScoop. Details here.

Alabama: Led by seven new assistants, Nick Saban has announced his 2019 coaching staff.

Kentucky State (D-II): The Citadel offensive tackles coach Charlie Hopkins will be the offensive line coach at Kentucky State, a source tells FootballScoop.

Pearl River Community College (MS): Pearl River Community College has an opening for a Wide Receivers Coach. Previous playing/coaching experience is preferred. This position includes, dorm, food, and a stipend. Job responsibilities include: Video Coordinator (Hudl Experience), Head Dorm Resident, coach and meet with your position, recruit your own area, and any other duties assigned by the head coach. Appalachian State: Garrett Riley has joined the staff as running backs coach. He was previously on staff at Kansas.

Texas: Former North Carolina head coach Larry Fedora is interviewing for an analyst role and has sat in on a staff meeting, tweets Anwar Richardson of Orangebloods.

Fort Valley State (D-II – GA): Per source, Trinity International (NAIA – IL) offensive coordinator Buddy Blevins has accepted the offensive coordinator job at Fort Valley State.

Arkansas: Auburn director of player relations Kenny Ingram will be the defensive line coach at Arkansas, a source tells FootballScoop.

Illinois: Toledo wide receivers coach Mike Bellamy will join the offensive staff, sources tell FootballScoop.

Florida State: Greg Frey will not return as offensive line coach, Willie Taggart has announced.

Tennessee: After bringing in three new senior assistants, Jeremy Pruitt has shaken up the positional assignments on his coaching staff. Details here.

XFL: Jim Zorn will join the league, tweets Alex Marvez. The league launches in 2020.

Miles College (D-II – AL): Rashard Watson has joined the staff as defensive coordinator and defensive backs coach. Watson was previously the head coach at Franklin Pierce University and the defensive coordinator at Missouri Southern.

Widener (D-III – PA): Widener University’s Department of Athletics is currently seeking highly qualified applicants for the position of Assistant Football Coach, Offense. This is a full-time, 10- month position to be responsible for all aspects of the program under the direct supervision of the Director of Athletics and Head Football Coach. The Assistant Football Coach is responsible for, but not limited to, assist the head football coach in the leadership and direction of the program; organize practice sessions, participate in the preparation of student-athletes for competition and provide positive guidance to students off the field. Recruit prospective student-athletes committed to academic and athletic excellence. Establish and maintain a positive public relations image for the program, the department and Widener University. Serve as a role model for players both on and off the field. Develop good rapport and/or working relationship with students, department members, faculty and alumni. Adhere to Widener University departmental, NCAA and university policies. Other duties as assigned. Rutgers: Kansas City Chiefs quality control coach Jay Valaii is being hired to coach the corners, per Adam Rittenberg. Prior to joining the Chiefs, Valaii spent two seasons in a defensive quality control coach at Georgia.

Recruiting: The recruiting sites got hilariously “Catfished” by high school kids who created a fake prospect, and the story doesn’t stop there…

LSU: Mark Hutson, who had been with the Browns as assistant offensive line coach since 2016, has joined the LSU staff as an offensive analyst, per source.

Florida: The Gators staff won Valentines day with some custom V-Day cards and some puns.

Cincinnati Bengals: Per source, LSU analyst Brad Kragthorpe has left the staff to accept a position with the Bengals.

Louisiana Tech: Kenny Guiton, who spent the last two seasons as the wide receivers coach at Houston, is joining the LA Tech staff as wide receivers coach, per BleedTechBlue. Guiton had originally joined the Stephen F. Austin (FCS – TX) staff as wide receivers coach back in January.

Penn State: Special teams coordinator Phil Galiano is leaving for a position in the NFL, James Franklin announced today. Galiano has previous stops with the Dolphins and Bucs in the NFL and has spent the past two seasons in Happy Valley. UPDATE >> Adam Schefter adds that Galiano will join the Saints as the assistant special teams coach.

St. Olaf (D-III – MN): St. Olaf College invites applications for the full-time position of assistant football coach. This 12-month position is responsible for coaching a position group, actively recruiting a designated territory, serving as recruiting coordinator for campus visits, and other duties assigned by the head coach. The successful candidate will be highly organized, detail-oriented and demonstrate a commitment to positive student-athlete experience. Successful collegiate recruiting experience is preferred. Oklahoma State: Drake Smithton, who served as an offensive graduate assistant at UNLV last season, has been hired in an offensive quality control role, per source.

Widener (D-III – PA): Widener University is seeking a graduate assistant to coach the defensive line. Previous playing experience is required and previous coaching experience is preferred. Minority candidates encouraged. This position will be given the title of Defensive Line Coach along with full responsibility of the development of that position. The position requires a highly motivated person to assist with the implementation of practices, evaluation of prospective student athletes, off and on campus recruiting, scouting opponents, and other duties as assigned by the head coach Must be accepted into the Graduate Program. Atlanta Falcons: Will Harriger, who spent a number of years at the college level at Florida, Texas Tech, Texas, and Auburn, has joined the Falcons as an offensive assistant, per the AJC. Harriger spent the past five seasons coaching with the Seahawks.

Albany State (D-II – GA): Per source, Rodney Williams is joining the coaching staff.

Widener (D-III – PA): Widener University is seeking a part-time assistant coaches on both offensive & defensive sides of the ball.
