Terrible news to share as former Vanderbilt director of athletics David Williams has died. Williams served as vice chancellor for athletics and university affairs for 15 years. Please keep David and his family and friends in your prayers.

Miami: Manny Diaz is making significant changes to Miami’s recruiting operation. Barry Jackson tweets this afternoon that director of personnel Matt Doherty and several other staff members have been let go.

Texas A&M: Oklahoma State offensive line coach Josh Henson will join the staff in the same capacity, tweets Billy Liucci of TexAgs. Henson replaces Jim Turner, who left to join Zac Taylor’s Cincinnati Bengals staff.

Georgia: Shawn Watson has joined the staff as a quality control assistant, the program has announced.

Kansas State: Buddy Wyatt has been officially announced as the new defensive ends coach for the program. Wyatt had originally joined the Appalachian State staff in early January and previously coached the defensive line at SMU from 2015-17. He’s also coached the defensive line at Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Northwestern, Colorado, Texas A&M, Alabama, Nebraska, and Kansas and spent the 2018 season in a senior analyst role with the Jayhawks.

Penn (FCS): Ryan Becker has been named tight ends coach after coaching the tight ends at East Tennessee State (FCS) last season, and Kyle Metzler will move from tight ends, where he spent the past two seasons, to offensive line.

Purdue: Jeff Brohm will make a $45,000 bonus for securing ESPN and 247’s 25th-ranked recruiting class, according to Steve Berkowitz of USA Today.

Northern Illinois: Dakota State (NAIA – SD) offensive line coach Lucas Skibba has left to become an offensive graduate assistant at Northern Illinois.

Franklin Pierce (D-II – NH): Franklin Pierce University, located in Rindge, NH, is accepting applications for a graduate assistant to coach the defensive line. This position includes tuition and a stipend of $8,000 over 12 months. The responsibilities include coaching a position, practice/game preparation, recruiting, equipment, video, film breakdown, data entry, and other duties assigned by the head coach or coordinators. Collegiate experience playing and/or coaching defensive line is preferred. Interested candidates should send cover letter, resume, and references to Taylor Ewen at [email protected] . Successful candidates must pass a background check and gain acceptance into the Franklin Pierce graduate program. Review of applicants will begin immediately and the position will begin March 4th. Tennessee: Oakland Raiders defensive backs coach Derrick Ansley, a former assistant at Alabama, Tennessee and Kentucky, is joining the Vols staff, per a report from 247.

UConn: Randy Edsall has made a series of moves after losing offensive coordinator John Dunn to the Jets, but more important is the overall state of the program.

Miami Dolphins: The Dolphins have announced Briian Flores’ staff as follows; Chad O’Shea (OC), Patrick Graham (DC), Jim Caldwell (assistant HC), Danny Crossman (STC), Josh Boyer (Defensive PGC / Corners), Karl Dorrell (WRs), Pat Flaherty (OL), George Godsey (TEs), Marion Hobby (DL), Rob Leonard (LBs), tony Oden (safeties), Jerry Schiplinksi (assistant QBs), Eric Studesville (RBs). Also, Josh Grizzard, Matt Lombardi and Tiquan Underwood will work in quality control roles.

New York Jets: The Jets have announced Adam Gase’s staff. On offense: Dowell Loggains (OC / QBs), Shawn Jefferson (WRs), Jim Bob Cooter (RBs), Frank Pollack (OL), Derek Frazier (asst OL), John Dunn (TEs), Bo Hardegree (offensive asst). On defense: Gregg Williams (DC), Frank Bush (ILBs), Andre Carter (DL), Joe Vitt (OLBs), Dennard Wilson (DBs), Steve Jackson (asst DBs), Robby Brown (defensive asst), Blake Williams (defensive asst), Eric Sanders (defensive asst). Brant Boyer will serve as special teams coordinator and Jeff Hammerschmidt will assist with special teams.

Tennessee: Defensive backs coach Terry Fair is reportedly no longer with the program. Volquest is reporting Fair was offered the opportunity to remain on staff in an off the field role but he declined.

College Football Playoff Committee: Ohio State AD Gene Smith is stepping down and Iowa AD Gary Barta is joining the committee. No word as to whether this entitles Kirk Ferentz to additional money or not; but it probably does.

Georgia Southern: Source tells FootballScoop interim DFO Sean Fitzgerald will be promoted to the full-time position.

AAF: Here’s what to expect when the AAF kicks things off this weekend.

Clem$$$on: Following a historic 2018 title run, Clemson becomes the second program to employ three $1 million assistants. Full staff salaries here.

Miami: Former Hurricane Dallas Crawford is joining the staff as a GA working with the defensive backs, FootballScoop can confirm. Outside the Huddle and Inside the U were the first to report. Crawford previously worked on staffs at Georgia and Akron.

Arizona Cardinals: The organization has announced the hiring of Matt Harriss as their director of administration.

Sacramento State (FCS): Tyler Osborne has been hired to coach the wide receivers after spending the last two seasons at Washington in an offensive graduate assistant role. Prior to joining the Washington staff, Osborne was an offensive analyst at Oregon.

South Florida: Middle Tennessee corners coach Steve Ellis will be the new defensive backs coach at USF, a source tells FootballScoop. Bruce Feldman was the first to report.

Thaddeus Stevens (JC – PA): Dennis Iezzi, who coached the corners at Alvernia (D-III – PA) last season, has been named the new head coach of the program.

Washington Redskins: Tim Rattay has been named the new quarterbacks coach. Rattay, who had an eight-year career in the NFL, was at Lousiana Tech where he first coached the receivers from 2013-15 before being moving to quarterbacks coach from 2015-18.

AAF: The upstart Alliance of American Football kicks off this weekend. Here’s a look at the schedule, and what you should expect.

NC State: NC State is currently seeking an Assistant Director for Football Creative Media. Responsibilities include video production of recruiting and social media content. Works with Director of Player Personnel to produce creative and innovative content for incoming recruits. Helps to determine creative direction, plans, estimates and timetables for projects. Work nights, weekends, holidays and non-traditional hours. Required to work quickly, efficiently, and with adaptability under strict deadlines. Responsible for projects from start to finish. Experience and knowledge with Adobe Creative Suite, specifically Adobe Premiere and Adobe After Effects. Scoop’Em Up: Herschel Sims, a former North Texas graduate assistant, is looking to land a full-time or quality control coaching position. Sims, who has experience working with both running backs and wide receivers, was a top rated running back in the country coming out of high school, and elected to attended Oklahoma State before eventually finishing his playing career at Abilene Christian (FCS – TX). He recently wrapped up his graduate degree at UNT and lives in Frisco with his wife and daughter. His references include North Texas head coach Seth Littrell, USC offensive coordinator Graham Harrell, North Texas Associate head coach / wide receivers coach Tommy Mainord, Missouri offensive line coach Brad Davis, and Georgia Tech running backs coach Tashard Choice among others. College of DuPage (JC – IL): The College of DuPage is seeking applicants for an entry-level assistant football coach. All position strengths will be considered. Duties include on-field coaching, film breakdowns, practice planning, game planning, game day responsibilities, recruiting, and any other duties assigned by the head coach. Playing experience and/or coaching experience at the college level is required. This is an ideal position for a new or recent graduate looking to get into the profession or to prepare for a high-level GA position. The two previous coaches in this position moved on to division one graduate assistant positions. The role offers a chance to coach a position group of high-level athletes, network with college coaches across the country, and comes with a small stipend. Schedule is flexible enough to allow another part-time job if needed. No housing or meals. Auburn: Per source, Furman (FCS – SC) corners coach Addison Williams has accepted a position on the Auburn staff.

Miami (FL): Dallas Crawford, who previously worked with Akron and Georgia, has joined the program as a defensive graduate assistant, per source. Bruce Feldman has tweeted the same. We understand he will help with the defensive backs.

Vanderbilt: Quarterbacks coach Gerry Gdowski will be promoted to offensive coordinator, sources tell FootballScoop. Details here.

Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings have finalized their coaching staff with the addition of Rick Dennison as offensive line coach and run game coordinator. Marwan Maalouf will work as special teams coordinator, and Drew Petzing will move from assistant quarterbacks coach to wide receivers coach.

Centre College (D-III – KY): Centre College is seeking applicants for an open position of Assistant Football Coach/Defensive Line. This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. This position is under supervision of the Head Football Coach, and will provide assistance in various aspects of coaching, recruiting, and administrative duties for a Division III football program. Individual reports to the Head Football Coach as well as to the Deputy AD in regards to the secondary duty of event management. Successful candidate will have a demonstrated knowledge of coaching skills of the sport of football and its playing rules; a commitment to the Division III philosophy; knowledge of NCAA and SAA rules; and a demonstrated ability to recruit, retain, and mentor student-athletes. Additional qualifications include communication skills that allow for the ability to teach, motivate, and counsel student-athletes effectively as well as being self-motivated, positive, energetic, eager to teach, and a willingness to travel. Ability to foster a team environment as well as the ability and desire to work successfully within a team-oriented athletic department is essential. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred. Missouri: David Gibbs will coach the corners and defensive coordinator Ryan Walters will coach the safeties and outside linebackers, the school has announced. Recapping the rest of the staff; Derek Dooley (OC / QBs), Cornell Ford (RBs), Garrick McGee (WRs), AJ Ofodile (TEs), Brad Davis (OL), Brick Haley (DL), Vernon Hargreaves (ILBs), and Andy Hill (STC).

Samford: Source tells FootballScoop West Georgia (D-II) defensive line coach Kinjee’ Cotton is expected to join Samford’s staff in the same capacity. In addition to coaching the defensive line at West Georgia, Cotton also has experience at North Carolina, Birmingham Southern, UAB and at Alabama.

Huntingdon (D-III – AL): Huntingdon College is seeking an intern assistant football coach working on the defensive side of the ball, preferably with safety experience. Responsibilities include maintaining a recruiting territory, academic monitoring, film breakdown, and other duties assigned by the head coach. Compensation includes a stipend, dorm room, and meals. Toledo: The University of Toledo is seeking a wide receiver graduate assistant. Playing and coaching experience is preferred. Please send resume and references to [email protected].

Louisiana College (D-III): Louisiana College has a defensive intern position open. Looking for a defensive backs coach, but will hire the best candidate available. Candidate will be responsible for his own position group, responsible for a recruiting area, academic coordinator assistant, and assist the HC Coach as needed . Position includes a $10,000 stipend and an on campus dorm room. No Meals. Candidaites must have Bachelors Degree, previous DB coaching experience, Hudl experience, knowledge of Excel/Google Spread Sheets (Visio and Photoshop knowledge is a plus), and a willingness to learn. Miami (FL): Jesse Stone, who spent the last three years as an offensive graduate assistant at Georgia working with the quarterbacks, is joining the staff as a quality control coach, Bruce Feldman tweets.

Marvin Lewis: Marvin Lewis will be in the NFL Network broadcast booth for Sunday’s night’s AAF game.

Carolina Panthers: Everette Brown has been hired as the team’s assistant linebackers coach, Field Yates tweets. Brown spent last training camp with the Panthers as a coaching intern.

UConn: Offensive line coach Frank Giufre is being promoted to offensive coordinator, per multiple reports. The move comes following the departure of John Dunn to the New York Jets staff (see below). Giufre will be Edsall’s third offensive coordinator in three seasons since returning to UConn.

New York Jets: UConn offensive coordinator John Dunn is leaving to join the Jets staff as tight ends coach.

Kansas City Chiefs: Field Yates tweets that the Chiefs are expected to hire Kentucky defensive coordinator Matt House as their new linebackers coach. Read more here.

Louisville: Northern Michigan (D-II) run game coordinator / offensive line coach Karl Maslowski is joining the Louisville staff in a quality control role, per source. At NMU, he also coached special teams, tight ends, running backs, and linebackers during his time with the program. Prior to joining the NMU staff, Karl was the special teams coordinator / linebackers coach at Western Kentucky.

Trinity Valley (JC – TX): Per source, Tyler Uselton has been hired as the offensive line coach. Uselton is a former offensive lineman at center under Justin Fuente.

Air Force: Per source, Holy Cross (FCS) pass game coordinator / wide receivers coach Ari Confesor is joining the staff as receivers coach.

Yale (FCS – CT): Yale University is no longer accepting applications for the defensive position. Thank you for the overwhelming interest in the position.

Southwest Baptist (D-II – MO): Southwest Baptist University is looking to fill three open dates in the 2020 season. Open dates are 09/05/2020, 09/12/2020 and 09/26/2020.
