Art Briles: The CFL has nixed the hiring of Art Briles by the Hamilton Tiger-Cats. More here.

Hurricane Harvey: BYU-LSU has officially moved from Houston to New Orleans, and Richmond-Sam Houston State has moved from Huntsville to Friday at Baylor’s McLane Stadium.

Baltimore Ravens: The club has added a year onto John Harbaugh’s contract, keeping him in Baltimore through 2019.

Fox Sports: Former ESPN analyst Danny Kanell will join Fox as a part-time college football analyst on FS1 and FS2, according to Awful Announcing. Additionally, Kanell will host a daily radio show on Sirius XM College Sports Nation, which happens to be on at the same time as the ESPN Radio show he was laid off from in April.

Hamilton Tiger-Cats (CFL): The Ti-Cats have hired Art Briles as assistant head coach for offense. June Jones was named head coach last week. More on the move including the ironic timing here.

Mount St. Joe (D-III – OH): Per source, Scott Gildea has joined the staff after previously serving as the offensive coordinator at Hamilton HS (OH). Gildea has previous stops as the head coach at Clermont Northeastern HS (OH) and Cincinnati College Prep Academy (OH).

Louisburg (JC – NC): Louisburg College, a private junior college located outside Raleigh, North Carolina, has an immediate opening for a Head Strength & Conditioning Coach and defensive position coach. Kent State: Last night, word broke that head coach Paul Haynes would be taking a medical leave for about 2-3 weeks and offensive coordinator Don Treadwell would be taking over as interim head coach. See yesterday’s post for more info.
