Carolina Panthers: The Panthers’ sale to David Tepper has been finalized. NCAA: The NCAA is looking to hire two positions in assistant director of enforcement – football development. This position is responsible for developing specific expertise in and knowledge of the football recruiting environment through monitoring, investigation, outreach and educational efforts designed to strengthen the enforcement staff’s ability to monitor and enforce compliance with NCAA rules. USC: La Verne (D-III – CA) wide receivers coach Jeff Magdaleno is leaving the staff to work in equipment operations with the USC football team, per source.
West Virginia State (D-II): Source tells FootballScoop WVSU has a full-time opening for an offensive line coach and a grad assistant position open working with the defensive line.
Otterbein (D-III – OH): Otterbein University, located in Westerville, OH, has an immediate opening for a defensive graduate assistant working with the defensive line. Successful candidates will coach their own position, run positional meetings, assist with special teams, and have his own recruiting territory. Stetson (FCS – FL): Per sources, Jeremy Perkovich, the linebackers coach at San Diego Mesa College (JC – CA), has accepted the defensive line job.
Lane (D-II – TN): Drametrice Smith will coach the defensive backs after coaching the defensive backs at Bacone (NAIA – OK) last season. Previous stops for Smith include Arkansas Baptist (JC), Bethel College (NAIA – KS), Feather River (JC – CA) and Fort Valley State (D-II – GA).
San Diego Mesa (JC – CA): San Diego Mesa has an immediate opening for a defensive coaching position. Preference is Linebackers but will hire the best defensive coach available. Primary responsibilities include assisting the defensive coordinator in all phases of the football program as well as other duties assigned by the coaching staff which will include coaching a position group. Must be proficient in using Hudl Video Editor, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with film breakdown and data entry is a must. A stipend will be provided as well as the potential to gain more income based on equivalency through Bachelor’s Degree, Master’s Degree preferred.
