Buffalo Bills: Ken Dorsey, who had joined the Appalachian State staff as an offensive assistant after previously serving in an assistant athletic director role at FIU, has been announced as the new quarterbacks coach. Also, the Bills have promoted offensive assistant Chad Hall to wide receivers coach.
Trine (D-III – IN): Sources tell FootballScoop that Tyler Wellman will be the new quarterbacks coach at Trine. Wellman spent last season as the offensive line coach at Aurora (D-III – IL) and is a prior FootballScoop D-III Coordinator of the Year finalist while coordinating the offense at Lakeland (D-III – WI).
Western Colorado (D-II): Per source, Ryan McFadden has been hired as offensive line coach / run game coordinator. McFadden served as co-offensive coordinator / tight ends coach at Humboldt State (D-II – CA) this past season. He has previously coached at Montana Tech, South Dakota Mines, Simon Fraser, Wayne State College, and College of the Desert.
West Virginia: Pete Thamel tweets that Blake Seiler is expected to be the new linebackers coach at WVU. Seiler, who had been tabbed as defensive ends coach under Chris Klieman at K-State, had been in Manhattan since 2009 in various roles, including defensive coordinator last season.
Illinois: Per source, FAU defensive backs coach Keynodo Hudson is expected to join the Illinois staff.
Simpson (D-III – IA): Simpson College invites applications for the position of Assistant Football Coach (assistant OL). Duties and responsibilities will include assisting in the administration and organization of all aspects of the football program, including coaching, recruiting and scheduling. Applicants must have an excellent working knowledge of all areas of the sport, as well as a working knowledge of NCAA/A-R-C rules. Other duties within the athletics department maybe assigned by the Athletics Director, based on the qualifications of the candidate. The qualified candidate will hold a bachelors’ degree with athletics/sports emphasis, have excellent communication skill to effectively communicate with students and their parents. Minimum of five years’ experience coaching at high school or college as an Offensive line coach, preferred. Must have strong commitment to the academic goals of the college. Successful applicants will demonstrate a commitment to cultural diversity and the ability to work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to speak Spanish and certification in CSCS are desirable. Review of applicants will begin immediately.
