Wake Forest: Wake has announced that defensive coordinator Jay Sawvel has been relieved of duties.  “This was a difficult decision and not a spur of the moment decision,” said head coach Dave Clawson.  “I want to thank Coach Sawvel for all his hard work with our football program over the last two years.  Coach Sawvel is a very good person and a good football coach.” Defensive analyst Tom Gilmore will be elevated to a full-time position as outside linebacker coach, and coordinator duties will be split up amongst the rest of the defensive staff. Specific roles have not been determined.

Ohio State: Ohio State officials are reportedly considering naming Ryan Day the Buckeyes’ head coach-in-waiting. More on the plan here.

Maryland: In case you missed it Friday, an investigation has found Maryland culpable for Jordan McNair’s death. More here.
