The cancellation of the B gap up front held opponents to 3.1 yards per carry in the run game and using an additional safety as a middle hole robber bolstered combination coverage packages. As a result, the Eagles lead the conference in total defense, 3rd down and red zone efficiency. Next Tuesday, X&O Labs will be releasing an exclusive clinic report from Coach Everett which details the entire package, including the coverages and pressures he’ll use in this system (this report includes game film).
