Oklahoma: Lincoln Riley and his assistants are set to have their contracts reviewed at an OU Board of Regents meeting on Tuesday, reports Brooke Pryor of the Oklahoman. Riley earned a $3.1 million base salary in 2017 and is set to earn $3.8 million this year. Defensive coordinator Mike Stoops was Riley’s highest paid assistant in 2017 at $920,000.
Oklahoma State: Athletic director Mike Holder made some critical comments about Mike Gundy and his staff’s recruiting ability on a recent podcast.
Central Missouri (D-II): The University of Central Missouri is seeks a qualified candidate for a Defensive Backs Graduate Assistant. The candidate must be able to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends and the candidate must have prior playing or coaching experience in the defensive backfield. Candidates will be responsible for coaching a position group, recruiting a geographical area, film breakdown/editing on HUDL, and other duties assigned by the Head Coach and Defensive Coordinator. Qualifications: Required: Bachelor’s Degree (minimum 2.75 GPA) from an accredited institution, must qualify for and be accepted into a graduate program at the University of Central Missouri, and prior DB coaching/playing experience. LA Chargers: The Chargers have promoted scouting coordinator Tyler Lyon to area scout and have expanded area scout Justin Sheridan’s role with the organization, per Neil Stratton.
Virginia Tech: The Hokies have formally announced the addition of Tyrone Nix as safeties coach. Nix spent last season in a senior defensive analyst role at Texas A&M and has previously served as the defensive coordinator at Middle Tennessee, Ole Miss, and co-defensive coordinator at South Carolina.
Bentley (D-II – MA): After being on the sidelines the last 47 seasons, including the last four as the defensive backs coach and assistant head coach at Bentley, Leo Fanning has announced his retirement. Fanning’s coaching career also included stops at Harvard, Norwich University, and College of the Holy Cross.

Pima CC (JC – AZ): Pima has decided that 2018 will be their last football season as the school has chosen to make cuts totaling $1.9 million, and football is one of those casualties, per Tuscon.com.
West Georgia (D-II): West Georgia has a defensive graduate assistant job open. Playing experience at the college level in the back 7 is preferred, but not a must. Needs to be efficient in Xos, Excel, Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Power Point, and Photoshop. Would also like for student or Georgia coaching experience. Garden City CC (JC – KS): Wildwood HS (FL) head coach McKinley Rolle has resigned to become the linebackers coach at Garden City, per The Villages Daily Sun.
Shippensburg (D-II – PA): Shippensburg University is currently seeking to hire a full-time running backs coach who is well organized and coaches with passion. This is a full-time, 12-month, non-teaching position. Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, two years of college coaching experience. Applicants must possess effective communication skills and the demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population. Chicago Bears: The Bears have elevated Chris Prescott, who has been with the team since 2015, to fill the team’s vacant National Scout role, per Neil Stratton.
Stevenson (D-III – MD): Stevenson University has a Defensive Graduate Assistant position open. All defensive position backgrounds are encouraged to apply. Compensation is $8,000 and Graduate School Tuition (no housing). Looking for a candidate who is serious about the coaching profession, earning a Master’s Degree, and must be admitted to Stevenson University’s graduate programs. Hocking (JC – OH): Hocking is seeking assistant coaches for the following positions: running backs and defensive linemen. This is a stipend position of $3,000 for the 2018-2019 Academic Year. There will be an educational benefit as well. The right candidates will not only coach their positions, they will assist the Head Coach & Coordinators in practice plans, game day plans, assist in the everyday managing and supervision of student-athletes and student-workers. You will assist the training staff as need. You will also be assigned recruiting areas as well. You will be expected to work with the recruiting coordinator at every level of the recruiting process.
