XFL: Former Buffalo Bills general manager Doug Whaley is the XFL’s new senior VP of football operations.

Bethany (NAIA – KS): Head coach Paul Hubbard has stepped down after four seasons leading the program and a 11-31 mark overall, including a 2-8 record this season.

Orlando Apollos (AAF): The following additions to Steve Spurrier’s staff have been announced; Jim Jeffcoat (DL) – who has spent time as the defensive line coach at Colorado, San Jose State and in the NFL with the Cowboys and Texans; Todd Washington (ST / RBs) – who’s backgrounnd includes stops with the Ravens as assistant offensive line coach and offensive coordinator at the college level at the University of San Diego; Jim Collins (LBs) – who was part of Spurriers ’96 Floida staff and most recently served as the director of football relations and special assistant to David Cutcliffe at Duke, Jimmy Ray Stephens (OL) – who previously worked as Spurriers offensive line coach at Florida and has previous stops at Middle Tennessee State and most recently was the head coach at Walton HS (FL); Willie Jackson (WRs) – a former veteran wide receiver who played with the Cowboys, Bengals, Saints, Falcons, Redskins and Broncos and who most recently served as the athletic director at Edwards Waters College; David Reaves (RBs / QBs) – former Oregon co-offensive coordinator who worked as South Carolina quarterbacks coach under Spurrier; and Donnie Abraham (DBs) – who coached the corners at Illinois earlier this year before resigning.

Bethany (NAIA – KS): Per source, co-defensive coordinator / defensive line coach Eric Morris has been relieved of his duties.

Cleveland Browns: Browns ownership has turned their coaching search over to general manager John Dorsey, per Mary Kay Cabot. Cabot adds that Dorsey will have full authority to conduct the search however he wants.

Louisville:  The Courier-Journal shared some interesting news regarding defensive coordinator Brian VanGorder’s contract, namely that if VanGorder is let for for any reason within six months of Bobby Petrino leaving the program for any reason, his severance package is reduced from $1.425 million to about $312,000. VanGorder signed a three-year deal worth $950,000 annually and joined the staff back in January.

UMass: Former NFL player and defensive graduate assistant Valerian Ume-Ezeoke has been elevated to interim defensive line coach while Minutemen defensive line coach Dave  Wissman steps away citing health reasons.
