UTSA: Athletics director Lynn Hickey is stepping down for personal reasons, effective immediately. Hickey has been with UTSA since 1999 and shepherded the creation of the football program. Vice president for student affairs Sam Gonzales will serve as interim AD.

Coffeyville CC (JC – KS): The college has decided to move athletic director Jeff Leiker into the role of head football coach and head coach Aaron Flores will continue to support the program through operations. Leiker previously served as head coach of the program for seven seasons, going 2001-06 going 56-24 in that time. Flores currently sits on the waiting list for a double lung transplant and has been battling acute interstitial lung disease since 2004.

Pac-12: The new president of the Pac-12 Network is Mark Shuken. Shuken is the former CEO of the DirecTV Sports Network, and has also spent time with Time Warner Cable and Fox Sports Northwest.

New Research: Differentiating Cut Block Technique Off Play Concept – Execution of a proper cut block is centered on two components: proper landmarks and impeccable timing. And since most offensive play concepts vary in these two regards, it makes sense to teach a different cut block technique for each.
