Holy Cross (FCS – MA): Per source, New Haven (D-II – CT) defensive coordinator Brian Vaganek has left to join the Holy Cross staff.
Northern Illinois: Steve Crutchley has joined the staff as wide receivers coach. Crutchley previously spent three seasons as an assistant, and then associate head coach at Western Illinois (FCS), and coached the running backs at Southern Illinois (FCS) prior to that.
Albany State (D-II – GA): Head coach Dan Land has resigned. Land recently served as the interim head coach before being named head coach June of 2016. He went 11-8 leading the program over two seasons and had been an assistant on staff dating back to 2002.
Toronto Argonauts (CFL): New Mexico State defensive tackles coach Kerry Locklin is joining the Argos staff, per source.
Kentucky Wesleyan (D-II): Kentucky Wesleyan College, an NCAA Division II program, is looking for other NCAA Division II programs who have an open date on Saturday September 9, 2017 AND Saturday September 23, 2017. Winona State (D-II – MN): Joe Holtzclaw, the former run game coordinator / offensive line coach at Nebraska Kearney (D-II) is the new offensive line coach, per source.
Southern Miss: Jay Hopson has rearranged his coaching staff duties a bit, noting that recently hired Scotty Walden will handle boht the tight ends and inside receivers while Demond Lindsey (who coached the tight ends last season) will coach the outside receivers this year. To replace John Wozniak’s special teams duties, who left to become the running backs coach at Oklahoma State, Hopson told the Hattiesburg American that he’s working on appointing his assistants for each unit and will not name a single special teams coordinator to oversee all units.
New Mexico State: Per source, defensive tackles coach Kerry Locklin has left the NMSU staff to accept a coaching position in the CFL.
Indiana State (FCS): Sam Sewell has joined the Indiana State staff as running backs coach after spending the last two seasons coaching the running backs at Colorado State-Pueblo (D-II). At ISU, Sewell reunites with new offensive coordinator Jeff Hecklinski.
Wayne State College (D-II – NE): Wayne State College has an immediate opening for one offensive graduate assistant coach. The hraduate assistant’s primary coaching responsibilities will be working with the wide receivers. Previous experience is required. The position requires a highly motivated person to assist with the implementation of practices, evaluation of prospective student athletes, off and on campus recruiting, scouting opponents, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Applicants must qualify for the State of Nebraska defensive driving certificate. Graduate assistantships are granted based on acceptance into Graduate School at Wayne State College. This is a 10 month reporting position with a $500.00 stipend per month ($5,000.00 total) and tuition waiver for the academic year. Alderson Broaddus (D-II – WV): Salvatore Dewalt has been announced as the new head coach of the program. Dewalt spent the last three seasons on staff as the offensive line coach and director of football operations, and earned a promotion to offensive coordinator back in November.
Eastern Illinois (FCS): Cary Fowler has joined the staff as defensive coordinator. Fowler joins the staff after spending last season at Howard Payne (D-III – TX) as the defensive coordinator, and prior to that, he spent eight seasons at Tarleton State (D-II – TX).
