Endicott (D-III – MA): Head coach Kevin DeWall will not return the school announced this afternoon. AD Brian Wylie added a search will begin immediately.

Texas A&M: Dan Wolken reports that Texas A&M is “expected to” gauge the interest of Jimbo Fisher “once its separation from current coach Kevin Sumlin is official at the end of the season.”

Humboldt State (D-II – CA): With rumors swirling of dropping the football program, as well as all of athletics, for months now, HSU president Lisa Rossbacher noted today that she will not make a decision on the future of the athletics program until December 1st, per KIEM Sports.

William and Mary (FCS – VA): Head coach Jimmye Laycock intends to return to coach next season, which would mark his 39th with the program, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reports. The report adds that Laycock has not thought of an exit strategy beyond next season, but may think about that over Christmas break. William & Mary finish the season against Richmond this weekend and currently sit at 2-8 overall and 0-7 in league play. Laycock’s career record with the program is 245-188-2.


Virginia Union (D-II): Co-defensive coordinator Mike Fanoga has been named interim head coach at VUU. Fanoga is in his second season with the program after spending the prior two seasons at Morgan State (FCS – MD) where he was the defensive coordinator. Prior to Morgan State, Fanoga was the defensive coordinator at Virginia Union where he led a defense that ranked in the top 2 nationally in rush defense, scoring defense, and total yards allowed.

Tennessee: This is not a surprise to anyone, but AD John Currie told Vols recruit Adrian Martinez that if he doesn’t have a new head coach hired by the opening of the new early signing period on Dec. 20 that “there will be a new AD in town.”

Arkansas-Little Rock: AD Chasse Conque has signed a contract extension through 2022 with an automatic rollover paying him a base salary of $178,000.

Carroll College (NAIA – MT): Per source, running backs coach Chris Riley has left the program, citing personal reasons.

Carson-Newman (D-II – TN): Carson-Newman is looking to fill several open dates for 2018, 2019, and 2020. We’re looking for D-II games, specifically Region 2. We are open to 1 or 2 year contracts. Kansas: Chancellor Doug Girod reiterates in a statement to campus and the community that he has faith in AD Sheahon Zenger and head coach David Beaty, adding, “nobody denies the challenges we are having on the field, but I maintain my believe in coach that Sheahon and coach Beaty have the right long-term vision and are doing things the right way.”
