Alabama: Major Applewhite is interviewing for an analyst role with the organization, according to BamaInsider. The former Houston head coach was Nick Saban’s first offensive coordinator at Alabama.
Green Bay Packers: The team has formally announced the addition of Colorado State wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted as their new receivers coach.
Trinity International (NAIA – IL): Trinity International (IL) University has an immediate opening for offensive restricted earnings position working with wide receivers. Applicants must have a strong Christian faith and work within Trinity International University’s Christian mission. The position will have their own recruiting area and will be responsible for coaching and managing their own position, including position meetings. Job responsibilities include but are not limited to film breakdown and data entry, assisting with special teams, recruiting, running positional meetings, assisting with game preparation, and other duties assigned by the head coach. The position includes housing and a $5,000 stipend. Delta State (D-II – MS): Head coach Todd Cooley has announced a series of promotions and additions to his staff. On defense, Kevin Green, who coached the defensive line last season, has been promoted to defensive coordinator and assistant head coach and will now work with the linebackers, and Geoff Terry (secondary) and Chance Alberswerth (DL / recruiting coordinator) are joining the s staff. Terry comes from Wingate (FCS – NY) where he was the assistant defensive backs coach, and Alberswerth worked in a defensive quality control role at Memphis last season. Myles Harges and Brady Hoda will serve as graduate assistants and Karl Balls will work as a volunteer assistant. On offense, offensive line coach Jonathan Fletcher, who previously worked with tight ends, running backs, and strength and conditioning has been promoted to run game coordinator and wide receivers coach Tyler Hasty has added the pass game coordinator title. Former North Carolina Central (FCS) receivers coach Marcus Windham will work with the running backs, and Nick Franey (OL GA) and Cason Bicknell (TE GA) will continue as graduate assistants. Joel Williams, who served as offensive coordinator last season, recently accepted the head coaching job at Straughn HS (AL).

Alabama: Tennessee quality control analyst Tino Sunseri, the son of new Alabama outside linebackers coach Sal Sunseri, is joining the Crimson Tide staff.
Georgia State: The program is no longer accepting applicants for their special teams / graduate assistant position. Thank you for the overwhelming interest.
Philadelphia Eagles: Keiser (NAIA – FL) assistant head coach / offensive line coach Roy Istvan is leaving to join the Eagles staff.
Buffalo Bills: After three seasons at Eastern Kentucky (FCS) as assistant head coach / offensive line coach, Terry Heffernan is leaving to take the assistant offensive line job with the Bills, per source.
Western Kentucky: Garret Chachere has joined the staff after spending last season as the passing game coordinator / running backs coach at Southeastern Louisiana (FCS). Chachere has spent 27 seasons in the coaching profession and previously coached at New Mexico Highlands, Cal, Southern Miss, Arizona, Memphis, and Tulane.
Washington Redskins: Rob Ryan, who most recently served as the Saints defensive coordinator from 2013-15 before serving as the assistant head coach for defense on his brother Rex Ryan’s Bills staff, has been named inside linebackers coach.
Sacramento State: Cherokee Valeria, who spent last season at Eastern Washington (FCS) as the corners coach / recruiting coordinator, has joined the staff as defensive pass game coordinator / secondary coach, per source.
Army: William & Mary (FCS – VA) defensive line coach Kevin Lewis and Stony Brook (FCS – NY) linebackers coach Matt Hachmann are joining the Army staff, per Sal Interdonato.
Green Bay Packers: Tom Silverstein shares that the Packers are expected to hire Colorado State wide receivers coach Alvis Whitted, and the team is also targeting Vanderbilt special teams coordinator Shawn Mennenga as a “top candidate” for their special teams position. Mennenga previously coached the Browns special teams units for seven seasons as an assistant special teams coach before entering the college ranks.
Lamar (FCS – TX): Head coach Mike Schultz has signed a contract extension taking him through the 2021 season and the contract provides an option for a one-year extension following that season, the school has announced. Schultz is entering his third season leading the program, going 2-9 the first season before ending this last season on a six-game winning streak and making the FCS playoff. During that six-game win streak, Schultz led the team to wins against three nationally ranked teams, including conference co-champion Incarnate Word (FCS – TX).
Indianapolis Colts: The Colts have hired Chris Strausser as offensive line coach. Strausser spent the last two seasons with the Broncos after nearly three decades coaching at the college level. Also Jason Michael, who coached with the Cardinals last season, has joined the staff as tight ends coach.
Temple: Source tells FootballScoop Illinois running backs coach Thad Ward is expected to join the staff coaching receivers (additional title expected as well). Prior to joining the Illinois staff in March 2016, Ward had coached receivers at NIU for three seasons.
Wyoming: Defensive ends coach / special teams coordinator AJ Cooper has added the responsibility of run game coordinator.
Alabama: Former Oklahoma defensive coordinator Mike Stoops is expected to join Nick Saban’s staff in an off-field role, per George Schroeder. Mike and Oklahoma parted ways back in early October.
Houston: Houston has formally announced Chris Scott as defensive recruiting coordinator, Morgan Tadlock as on-campus recruiting coordinator, Tyler Hancock as a special teams analyst and Will Weaver as a defensive analyst.
Indiana State (FCS): Marcus Knight, who coached the receivers at Central Michigan the last two seasons, has been hired to coach the running backs on Curt Mallory’s staff.
Offensive Line: A new series looking at the top paid assistant coaches in college football. First up, offensive line coaches.
North Carolina Central (FCS): Ole Miss senior player analyst Freddie Aughtry is the new defensive coordinator for the program, per source.
Wesley (D-III – DE): Wesley College is looking for a D-III, D-II or NAIA opponent for a Home game on September 21 or September 28 for the 2019 season. Interested programs can contact defensive coordinator Joe Bottiglieri at [email protected].

Jamestown (NAIA – ND): Concordia College defensive backs coach, special teams coordinator and co-recruiting coordinator Brian Mistro has been announced as Jamestown’s new head coach. “Coach Mistro is an outstanding leader who has the passion, vision, and intellect to be successful at anything he sets his mind to,” Johnson said. “He will take our football program to a new level of success because he is an excellent communicator, who can evaluate every situation and make adjustments when necessary, will build a culture for our program that mirrors that of our institution, and will inspire our student-athletes, our campus, and our community.” AD Sean Johnson said. Mistro replaces Josh Kittell, who left to become the recruiting coordinator at North Dakota State.

Brevard (D-III – NC): With the departure of Director of Football Operations / Recruiting Coordinator Dynomite Kuhn, Douglas HS (AZ) head coach James Fitzgerald has been hired as the new recruiting coordinator for the program. We understand that coach Fitz will be working with the H-backs and fullbacks on head coach Bill Khayat’s staff.
Davidson (FCS – NC): Former running backs coach Laymarr Marshall, who previously served as the head coach at Mount Tabor HS (NC), has accepted the head coaching job at Parkland HS (Winston-Salem, NC).
Valdosta State (D-II – GA): Lee Stalker, who spent last season as the defensive line coach / run game coordinator and special teams coordinator at Tiffin (D-II – OH) with Gary Goff, is joining the staff as defensive coordinator, per source.
Georgia State: Georgia State football is searching for a Special Teams / Recruiting Graduate Assistant. Duties will be assigned by the special teams coordinator, the recruiting coordinator, and the head coach. Ties to the state of Georgia and the southeast are strongly preferred. Minnesota-Duluth (D-II): Per source, UW-Stout (D-III) offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Chase Vogler has left to join his alma mater Minnesota-Duluth in the same capacity.
