Michigan: Boston College defensive coordinator Don Brown will be Michigan’s new defensive coordinator, per SI. Brown is a finalist for Defensive Coordinator of the Year.

Kansas: Former SMU offensive coordinator Jason Phillips is joining David Beaty’s staff coaching either inside or outside receivers per Jon Kirby of JayhawkSlant. Per source, special teams / tight ends Gary Hyman will move into a position outside of the 9 full-time assistants.

Vanderbilt: Per source, Fresno State offensive line coach Cameron Norcross is expected to be Vanderbilt’s new offensive line coach.

Georgia Southern: Per source, Colorado State defensive coordinator Tyson Summers will be the new head coach at Georgia Southern. More on the hire hereUpdate: The hire is now official.

USC: Linebackers coach Peter Sirmon will serve as defensive coordinator for the Trojans bowl game and will then stay on as linebackers coach and recruiting coordinator, per Scout.

Maryland: The Terps have announced the hire of Arkansas State OC Walt Bell as their new offensive coordinator.

BYU: Kalani Sitake has now formally been announced as the new head coach at BYU.

North Texas: Defensive line coach Kevin Patrick and running backs coach  / special teams coordinator Tommy Perry are being retained, per SI.

Atlanta Falcons: Per Jason La Canfora, Falcons GM Thomas Dimitroff is unlikely to return next season.

Jackson State (FCS): Per source, the well traveled John Hendrick will join Tony Hughes staff at Jackson State. We also are told East Mississippi CC defensive backs coach Clifton Collins will also join Hughes’ staff.

Louisiana Monroe: As we mentioned last week, sources tell FootballScoop Sam Houston State defensive coordinator Mike Collins is joining Matt Viator’s staff as defensive coordinator. We also are told that Georgia offensive line coach Rob Sale will join the staff in a similar capacity.

Malone (D-II – OH): Malone University, an NCAA Division II institution located in Canton, OH, is seeking applications for a graduate assistant position on defense. The positions require a highly motivated person to assist with the implementation of practices, evaluation of student athletes, off and on campus recruiting, scouting and other duties assigned by the head football coach. This is an 11 month position that includes housing, tuition waiver, stipend and board. Malone University is an evangelical Christian liberal arts college associated with the Friends Church whose faculty and staff affirm a Statement of Faith and adhere to lifestyle expectations. Montana Tech (NAIA): Montana Tech has an immediate opening for two intern coaching positions (one offensive and one defensive). Primary responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all phases of the football program. Other responsibilities include coaching a position. Must be proficient in using Hudl Video Editor, Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Experience with film breakdown and data entry is a must. A monthly stipend will be provided as well as a portion of housing. This is an entry level position. College playing experience and/or previous coaching experience is preferred.
