    Kansas State: K-State has announced a one-year extension for athletics director John Currie with a raise to $775,000 a year. Why it’s a (small) step forward in the ongoing NCAA revolution.

    Wisconsin-Whitewater (D-III): The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater has an opening for an offensive line graduate position. The position will assist the offensive line coach and have a part time on campus job. Candidates must be accepted into the school of graduate studies, minimum undergraduate GPA of 2.8, to obtain positions. Start date TBD, June camps are available.     South Dakota State (FCS): South Dakota State is looking to fill a number of future open dates; 2017 season – one FBS game and one FCS game (9/2/17 or 9/9/17) 2018 season, two FCS games (9/8/18 and 9/15/18 ) 2019 season, two FCS game (9/7/19 and 9/21/ 19).     California University of Pennsylvania (D-II): Due to university budget cuts within athletics, defensive backs coach Tom Rebholz will not have his contract renewed for the upcoming year. Tom coached the defensive backs the past five 5 years.

    Nichols College (D-III – MA): Per source, former St. Anselm College (D-III – NH) running backs coach Brett Banfield has joined the Nichols College staff as outside linebackers coach.

    Wilkes University (D-III – PA): Per source, Absegami HS (NJ) offensive line coach Jeff Long has joined the Wilkes staff as a defensive intern.

    Boise Sate: The salary pool for the assistants is $2,105,109 according to the Idaho Statesman, an increase of over 2.5 percent from last season ($2.05 million). As part of a three-year contract, defensive coordinator Marcel Yates will make $330,000 and the rest of the staff received raises as follows; OC Eliah Drinkwitz ($300,020), STC / TEs coach Kent Riddle ($265,013), DL coach / assistant head coach Steve Caldwell ($230,007), LBs coach Andy Avalos ($225,015), WRs Junior Adams ($185,016), DBs coach Julius Brown ($175,012). Runing backs coach Lee Marks, the newest member of the coaching staff, will make $125,008.

    UC Davis: Athletic director Terry Tumey recently stepped down to “pursue other opportunities” and Teresa Gould (the wife of UC Davis head coach Ron Gould) has been named interim AD, and is a candidate for the permanent post. Jon Wilner of the Mercury News has an interesting read on some of the other candidates for the position.

    Pac-12 Conference: The Pac-12 has hired David Coleman as its new vice president of officiating. Coleman had served as the NFL’s director of officiating since 2010.

    Central Methodist (NAIA – MO): David Calloway has been announced as the new defensive coordinator. Calloway is the former head coach and Texas A&M-Kingsville (D-II). Head coach Jody Ford has spent the last six seasons coordinating the defense.

    Iowa State: Defensive backs coach Maurice Linguist has added the title of defensive pass game coordinator.

    Northern State (D-II – SD): Head coach Tom Dosch has announced the addition of Kraig Paulson as defensive backs coach. Paulson spent the past four seasons as the defensive coordinator / assistant head coach / linebackers coach at UNLV.

    Missouri Valley (NAIA): Per source, Davonte Lee has joined the staff working with the defensive line. Lee was an assistant at Ramsay HS (Birmingham, AL) last season.

    Midwestern State (D-II – TX): Midwestern State University is currently seeking an offensive graduate assistant football coach. The position includes a stipend, housing, and tuition assistance for graduate school. Coaching responsibilities to include; but not limited to, running backs. Experience playing and coaching running backs or quarterbacks is preferred. Responsibilities include all aspects of the football program including; but not limited to, video editing, practice organization, contest preparation, recruitment weekends, student athlete development, and other duties as assigned by the Head Football Coach. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required.     Lycoming (D-III – PA): Lycoming College is accepting applications for a defensive intern position. Responsibilities include assisting the head coach in all facets of the program, including coaching a position, the recruitment of quality student athletes, organization and planning of all practices, game preparation, film breakdown, and monitoring the academic progress of student athletes.     Kansas: Per source, Troy Kema, an assistant AD for academic services at Texas A&M, has joined coach Beaty’s staff at Kansas as director of player personnel and student services.

    Catholic University of America (D-III – Washington, DC): Bill Bachman, who has been on staff the past two seasons, has been promoted to defensive coordinator. Bachman previously served as defensive coordinator for the program from 1985 to 1990.
