North Dakota: Athletic director Brian Faison has announced that he will retire from his post at the end of 2017. From January 1, 2018 through June 30, 2018 Faison will serve as a special advisor to UND athletics.

Jackson State (FCS): AD Wheeler Brown gave head coach Tony Hughes a vote of confidence to the Jackson Clarion-Ledger. “My support hasn’t wavered and at the end of the day, I still think coach Hughes is the man for the job,” Brown told the paper. Jackson State is 0-6 this season, its worst start since 1969, after falling to Division II Tuskegee 33-7 on Saturday. In 2013 the Tigers won 8 games, 5 wins in 2014 and 3 wins in each of 2015 & 2016. Hughes took over as head coach following the 2015 season.

Southern Virginia (D-III): Southern Virginia University will become an associate member of the Old Dominion Athletic Conference for football beginning in the 2019-2020 academic year. SVU is currently an associate member of the New Jersey Athletic Conference, and have been since 2014, when they transitioned from NAIA to Division III.
