Eastern Washington: Former UTSA AD Lynn Hickey has been named the AD at Eastern Washington. She is currently the interim AD at EWU.
Alliance of American Football: A new league, the Alliance of American Football, has announced its second city, Atlanta. The team will be led by head coach Brad Childress. Michael Vick will be the offensive coordinator. Childress, the former Minnesota Vikings head coach, was slated to serve as an analyst for the Chicago Bears this season. Will update how this impacts that role once clear. The AAF is scheduled to begin playing in February 2019.
Florida State: Source tells FootballScoop that former Michigan State GA Joe Bowen has joined the staff as a defensive analyst, former UCLA GA Jon Bills as offensive analyst and former Western Kentucky special teams analyst Brock Willis as special teams analyst.
Kansas: Per source, KU has hired former Oakland Raiders safeties coach Brent Vieselmeyer, former Tampa Bay Buccaneers scout and Syracuse offensive line coach Pat Perles and former Pikeville (Ky.) defensive coordinator, Southern Miss recruiting director and Kent State DFO Dayne Brown as analysts.
Bates (D-III – ME): Mark Harriman will step down as head coach, effective May 30. Harriman has led the program since 1998, won seven Colby-Bates-Bowdoin series championships and was named the NESCAC Co-Coach of the Year in 2012. “It has been a special honor to work with so many outstanding student-athletes during my time at Bates,” said Harriman. “These young men have exemplified Bobcat spirit each and every day, whether on the field, in the classroom, or in their day-to-day lives as contributing members of our college. I have truly cherished my time on the sidelines and as a member of the Bates community.”
Southwest Mississippi CC: Tim Stowers has been named head coach at Southwest Mississippi Community College. Stowers replaces Cam Achord, who left to join the New England Patriots’ staff.
Dickinson College (D-III – PA): Dickinson College has an immediate opening for an offensive intern (Wide Receiver experience preferred). This is a 10-month position. Responsibilities will include coaching your own position and having your own recruiting area, along with any duties assigned by the head coach and offensive coordinator. The position will include a stipend, meals, and housing. Candidate must have experience coaching or playing at the collegiate level. Fordham (FCS – NY): Fordham is looking to schedule an FBS opponent in 2023 and 2024. Additionally, we are looking for a home and home with an FCS opponent in 2022 and 2023. Southeastern (NAIA – FL): Southeastern University is accepting applications for a graduate assistant working with the offensive skill position. This position includes tuition, stipend, and meal plan. The successful candidate must provide his own housing. Applicants must have a strong Christian faith and work within Southeastern University’s Christian mission. Responsibilities include practice/game preparation, recruiting, equipment, video, film breakdown, data entry, and other duties assigned by the head coach or offensive coordinator. Experience playing and/or coaching wide receiver is preferred, as well as recruiting the state of Florida.
