Iowa State: With Tom Manning heading to the Colts, source tells FootballScoop Iowa State is expecting to promote offensive grad assistant Jeff Myers to offensive line coach. We expect Matt Campbell to call the offense.

Randy Edsall: Coach Edsall goes public….and some won’t like it.

Pitt: Pat Narduzzi officially announced the hiring of Cory Sanders (safeties) and Paris Johnson (assistant director of player personnel) today. Narduzzi also announced the promotion of Charlie Partridge to assistant head coach.

At this time a decade ago, six FBS head coaches were working on support staffs. Nine were assistants at the divisional level. It’s the 2018 edition of Where Were They Then?

MidAmerica Nazarene University (NAIA – KS): MNU has an opening for a full time defensive coaching position (preferably defensive backs with some coordinating experience). Primary responsibilities working with the defensive coordinator in game and practice preparation, coaching a position group, helping coach special teams, recruiting, academic success and travel plans. Must have experience with Hudl, Google Docs, Instagram and Twitter. This is a 12-month paid position that includes benefits, you must have previous coaching experience and a four-year college degree. Rhode Island (FCS): University of Rhode Island has hired Donovan Varner has receiver coach source tells FootballScoop. He was most recently at grad assistant at East Carolina. Was an all-conference receiver at Duke.

MidAmerica Nazarene University (NAIA – KS): MNU is seeking a wide receiver coach. You must live local in the Kansas City area. This a small stipend position that will pay for the Fall season. Indianapolis Colts: Iowa State offensive coordinator/offensive line coach Tom Manning will join the staff as tight ends coach, according to Tommy Birch of the Des Moines Register. Manning was the 2015 FootballScoop Offensive Line Coach of the Year.

Illinois: The Illini have announced the hirings of former Bills defensive backs coach Gill Byrd as safeties coach/passing game coordinator, Cody Gibson and Greg Gregory as offensive analysts, and Miles Smith (son of Lovie) as a defensive GA. Additionally, defensive coordinator Hardy Nickerson has added an assistant head coach title and GA Robert Wright has been named a defensive analyst.

Seattle Seahawks: The Seahawks have formally announced Jethro Franklin as assistant defensive line coach, assistant special teams coach Larry Izzo, and Steve Shimko as an offensive assistant.

Lakeland (D-III – WI): Joey Lehto will return to his alma mater as offensive line coach, sources tell FootballScoop. Lehto is a 2013 Lakeland graduate who spent the 2013-15 seasons as a GA.
