Alliance of American Football: The new San Antonio club is expected to name former Cowboy Daryl Johnston their GM and former Oregon State and Nebraska head coach Mike Riley their new head coach tweets Alex Marvez. Riley is currently on staff at Oregon State. The AAF begins play in the Spring.

NCAA: In response to last week’s news, the NCAA on Tuesday passed a new rule allowing schools to cancel the scholarships of players who intend to transfer.

Stephen F. Austin (FCS – TX): Assistant head coach/defensive coordinator Jeff Byrd has been named SFA’s interim head coach amid Clint Conque’s suspension.

Grad transfers: The growth in the number of grad transfers is stunning.

Urbana (D-II – OH): Urbana University has an immediate need for an entry level, part-time (up to 20 hours per week) Assistant Football Coach. The position will be responsible for coaching our linebackers, video editing using HUDL, recruiting, assisting with the strength and conditioning program, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Prior college playing experience and/or experience coaching high school football would be a plus in this position. Sacred Heart (FCS – CT): Sacred Heart University is looking for a video coordinator. The position will run from August 1 through December. Position will include $1,000 per month stipend (no meals or housing.) Looking for qualified applicants who have previous experience working with DVSport. Bates (D-III – ME): Penn (FCS) defensive line coach and longtime Division I assistant Malik Hall has been named head coach of the program. Past stops for Hall include Wagner, Fordham, Hofstra, Central Connecticut State and UMass.

Lafayette (FCS – PA): Lafayette College Football Program is looking for a paid Video Coordinator for the 2018-19 Season. This is an hourly position with regulated hours. The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to: filming, marking, intercutting, and editing practice & game tape. Furthermore, assist in the production of recruiting videos with the recruiting and social media departments. Assist in providing AV/IT support for the coaching staff when needed. Lock Haven (D-II – PA): Lock Haven University is currently seeking a 9-month Restricted Earnings Assistant Football Coach. Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, coaching your own position group, managing a recruiting area, film editing/breakdown, game/practice preparation, as well as other duties assigned by the head football coach. Applicants must display great work ethic and have collegiate coaching experience (student assistant or graduate assistant experience acceptable for candidate minimum qualification). A Bachelor’s degree and successful completion of a background check is required. Position will pay $11,500. Benefits, housing and meals are NOT included. Detroit Lions: The Lions have hired veteran NFL personnel executive Jimmy Raye III as a senior personnel executive, tweets Ian Rapoport. Raye was most recently the assistant general manager for the Houston Texans.

Langston (NAIA – OK): Langston University is currently seeking a graduate assistant Football Coach. Responsibilities will include coaching your own position group, and managing a recruiting area. Defensive playing or coaching experience is preferred (LBer’s). Bachelor’s degree and admission into Langston University graduate program is required. Chicago (D-III – IL): The University of Chicago has RE-OPENED its search for the position of Defensive Intern Football Coach. This individual will assist the Defensive Coordinator and Defensive Backs coach. This position is eligible for a seasonal stipend. No benefits or housing. The responsibilities include, but are not limited to: recruitment of student-athletes on and off-campus, on field coaching, defensive analytics, practice planning, video editing with Hudl, equipment tasks, and other administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach. A Bachelor’s degree is required. Previous coaching or playing experience with the defensive secondary will be given preference. A successful background check will be required before work begins on campus.
