North Carolina: UNC announced through joint statements Thursday night ousted Illinois head coach Tim Beckman will no longer volunteer with the Heels. Read more here.

Arkansas: Former Iowa State defensive coordinator Wally Burnham has come out of retirement to work with the Hogs as a defensive analyst. Burnham will with defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads, whom he coached under at Iowa State.

ESPN: ESPN has announced SportsCenter anchor Stan Verrett will replace the late John Saunders as host of ABC’s college football studio coverage. Saunders had sat in the anchor chair since 1992. Additionally, former Miami linebacker Jonathan Vilma will leave his role as an NBC college football analyst to work in the same capacity at ESPN. He’ll replace Robert Smith on the ESPN2 studio team.

LSU: LSU is searching for a replacement for longtime administrator Herb Vincent, who left the school almost two years ago for a similar role with the SEC. The vacancy, listed as “senior associate athletic director for external affairs,” will serve as the general spokesperson for the LSU athletic department. Read more on the position here.

Rutgers: Rutgers football has an immediate need for a recruiting assistant position. Duties include on-campus recruiting, supervision of student helpers and the liaison to the University’s Student Ambassador Program. Please send resume to Anthony Van Curen at [email protected].

Virginia: Patrick Higgins, the former offensive coordinator at UTEP from 2013-2015, has joined the staff in an analyst role. Higgins coached the outside receivers at BYU from 2005-2010 under Bronco Mendenhall.

The result was the Bunch Pop RPO, which helped his program gain 4,117 yards of offense, averaged 6.3 yards per play and 33 points per game last season. NFL Competition Committee: Denver Broncos GM and executive VP of football operations John Elway and Arizona Cardinals head coach Bruce Arians have been added to the NFL’s competition committee, per Adam Schefter.
