Vanderbilt: Outside linebackers coach Osia Lewis is being treated for liver cancer, the school announced today. Lewis will move into an off-the-field role as chief consultant to the head coach & senior defensive assistant. Derek Mason says he will hire a new outside linebackers coach at a later date. Please keep Coach Lewis in your prayers as he beats this disease.

Gerad Parker: Former Purdue interim head coach Gerad Parker was charged early this morning with operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, reportedly after attending a going away party. Parker had agreed to become the running backs coach at Cincinnati; but reportedly had stepped down from the role Friday and we have seen reports that he planned to join the staff at East Carolina.

Michigan: Navy director of player personnel Sean Magee will be the new director of player personnel at Michigan. Magee, a 2004 graduate of the Naval Academy and former offensive lineman there, has served in that capacity at Navy the past five seasons.

Texas A&M: Southern Miss assistant director of operations Mike Jones is leaving to accept with Texas A&M FootballScoop can confirm (and Jason Munz has said he’s hearing indications of). At Southern Miss Mike worked primarily in digital media / recruiting. Our understanding is he will focus on the same at A&M.

Marshall: Former Virginia Tech defensive ends coach Cornell Brown is expected to join the Marshall staff in a similar capacity reports Doug Smock.

San Francisco 49ers: Kyle Shanahan has formally announced the following assistants — John Benton, offensive line coach; Daniel Bullocks, assistant defensive backs coach; Michael Clay, strength and conditioning assistant; Stan Kwan, assistant special teams coordinator; Vince Oghobaase, assistant defensive line coach; DeMeco Ryans, defensive quality control; and Adam Stenavich, assistant offensive line coach.

NC State: Per source, former Tennessee recruiting/creative media director Merci Falaise has returned to his alma mater as assistant director of player personnel/recruiting communications.

Navarro College (JC – TX): Navarro College has an Intern Coaching position that starts immediately.  The position provides housing and meals and does not provide a stipend, salary, or benefits.  Duties will include coaching a position, recruiting an area, and assisting the staff with day to day football program operations.  All interested applicants, email resume to [email protected]. New Orleans Saints: Penn State quarterbacks grad assistant Joe Brady is joining the Saints organization in an offensive quality control role source tells FootballScoop.

Florida: Former Florida defensive lineman Ian Scott has joined the staff as defensive line grad assistant.

Western Illinois: Western Illinois University is looking to fill the position of Football Video Coordinator. This is a Graduate Assistant Position. Experience in DVSport is required. This position offers a Full-Tuition Wavier, but no stipend or housing is provided. Chadron State (D-II – NE): Former Wayne State College offensive coordinator Logan Masters is the new wide receivers coach at Chadron State, per source.

San Francisco 49ers: John Benton will become the Niners’ offensive line coach, according to multiple outlets. Benton had previously agreed this offseason to become the Broncos’ assistant offensive line coach.

Tommy Tuberville: According to Dennis Dodd of CBS Sports, the former Auburn coach is considering a run for Alabama governor in 2018. Read more here.

Tyler JC (TX): Wisconsin-Stevens Point graduate assistant Tony Eggleston has been hired as Tyler Junior College’s linebackers coach.

Warner (NAIA – FL): Warner University has an immediate opening for a strong Christian Leader to be its Defensive Coordinator. The individual will be responsible for every facet of defensive preparation, organization, and play. The individual will also be responsible for recruiting an area of Florida, maintaining the Christian mission of the University, and any duties assigned by the Head Football Coach. Warner is a growing University with a dynamic President. The individual is inheriting an athletic defense that finished the season ranked No. 6 nationally in Total Defense. No phone calls please. Bemidji State (D-II – MN): Bemidji State University is seeking a restricted earnings coach to work with either the WRs, RBs, or OLBs. Responsibilities will include coaching your own position as well as running your own meetings, video breakdown, scout cards, will be given a designated recruiting area, and any other responsibilities assigned by the head coach, offensive coordinator, or defensive coordinator. Salary is $10,000 along with camp money. Previous coaching/playing experience required. Detroit Lions: Former Houston Texans offensive coordinator George Godsey has been hired as a defensive analyst for special projects.

West Virginia State: Marhsall defensive analyst George Shehl has been hired as defensive coordinator at West Virginia State.

Stonehill College (MA): Stonehill College has hired Casey Tosches, former grad assistant at Springfield College, as video coordinator/ tight ends coach source tells FootballScoop. Also, Jake Petrarca, who coached receivers last year at Stonehill, has been promoted to recruiting coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Oklahoma: Ryan Dougherty has accepted a Special Teams Quality Control position with the University of Oklahoma source tells FootballScoop. Dougherty was previously the Special Teams Coordinator at Lehigh University. Before Lehigh, Dougherty was a grad assistant and Special Teams quality control at  ECU after punting two seasons in the NFL.

Northwestern State (FCS – LA): Northwestern State has an opening for a defensive line grad assistant, an offensive line grad assistant, and an offensive skill grad assistant (RB/WR). Reedley College (JC – CA): Reedley College is looking to hire a defensive assistant coach (DL, LB, or DB). There is flexibility within the staff to accommodate the best candidate.  It is a stipend position with no additional benefits. Must meet the minimum qualifications (associates degree). East Carolina: Former ECU wide receiver Jason Nichols is returning to campus as running backs coach, according to ESPN’s Adam Rittenberg. He spent the ’16 season on Western Carolina’s staff.

Charlotte: Source tells FootballScoop Brad Lambert is adding former Oklahoma State offensive line coach Greg Adkins to his staff in the same capacity. With the move, it is expected current offensive line coach Johnson Richardson will move to tight ends.

Morehead State: Slots / tight ends coach Milo Austin has added the co-special teams coordinator title we are told. Austin also serves as the programs director of football operations.

Presentation College (NAIA – SD): Presentation College has an opening for a full time offensive assistant.

Mary Hardin-Baylor (D-III – TX): The Mary Hardin-Baylor football program is looking for a home game on September 8, 2018. UMHB would travel the following year in 2019. Preferred NCAA Division III opponents. Interested programs, please email [email protected].
