Minnesota State-Mankato (D-II): Byron Thomas, who served as the defensive coordinator and linebackers coach at Alfred State (D-III – NY) during the past two seasons, has been named defensive backs coach.

North Park University (D-III – IL): Former head coach Scott Pethtel, who led the program for seven seasons until 2012, has been named head coach at Muncie Central HS (IN). Pethtel was the head coach at Brookstone HS (GA) last season, and has previous stops around college football at Ball State, Buffalo, Cincinnati, and others.

North Carolina Wesleyan (D-III – NC): NC Wesleyan is looking to hire an assistant defensive line intern for the 2017-2018 season. Responsibilities include but are not limited to coaching a position, maintaining a recruiting territory and film breakdown (HUDL). Position includes secondary duties within residence life (Housing). New Research: How Navy Teaches Combo’s, Scoops and Veer Blocks – Regardless of your offensive system one thing is hard to argue- when it comes to running the football not many do it better than the Naval Academy. The Midshipmen have averaged over 5.7 yards per carry over the last four seasons and as trendsetters in the flex bone system they have continually positioned themselves in the top 5 yearly in every rushing category. Mike Kuchar from X&O Labs spent a day this spring as a guest of offensive line coach Ashley Ingram who provided exclusive access into how he teaches and drills the most fundamental blocks in really any offensive system- front side combinations, backside scoops and veer releases. De Anza (JC – CA): De Anza College (CA Juco) has an immediate opening for a running backs coach. Previous experience is preferred but not required. This position requires a highly motivated person to assist with the daily drills for runningbacks/fullbacks, implementation of practices, evaluation of prospective student athletes, off and on campus recruiting, scouting opponents, and other duties as assigned by the head coach. Centered in the Inland Empire, SBVC has one of the richest talent pools in the country, a brand new $78 million training facility, new stadium, and new field. Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree and two years of experience coaching at the high school, college, or professional level in order to be eligible to receive a stipend. Candidates with a master’s degree in kinesiology or related field are eligible to become adjunct faculty and teach classes as well.
