Please join us in grieving the loss of Jim Dickey, who passed away on Saturday. Dickey was the head coach at Kansas State from 1977-84 — he took K-State to its first ever bowl trip in 1982 — and also made stops as an assistant at Houston, Oklahoma State, Oklahoma, Kansas, North Carolina and Florida. He was 84.

Alabama: After losing defensive line coach Karl Dunbar to the Steelers, Nick Saban will reportedly replace him with Miami’s Craig Kuligowski. More here.

Tampa Bay Bucs: Miami defensive line coach Craig Kuligowski has interviewed for Tampa’s open defensive line job, according to Pewter Report. The club has also spoken with current assistant d-line coach Paul Spicer, former Colts defensive coordinator Ted Monachino and former Cardinals defensive line coach Brentson Buckner, the site reports. Miami led the nation with 3.39 sacks per game in 2017. Update: Buckner is the choice, according to Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times.

Missouri Western (D-II): Missouri Western State University is seeking applicants for a defensive graduate assistant working with the defensive line. Compensation includes tuition, some meals, and a monthly stipend. Position includes but is not limited to: leading your own position group working with either the defensive ends or tackles, video editing, academic monitoring, maintaining a recruiting area, and other duties assigned by the head coach. Glendale CC (JC – CA): Glendale College is seeking applicants for one assistant offensive football coach. Positions available will be either offensive line or receivers. Duties will include assisting with football operations, recruiting, practice organization, video editing, and other football related activities. Stipend only. Bachelor’s degree with two years’ experience required. Adjunct teaching positions available with Master’s degree. No housing or benefits offered. Louisiana Tech: Jeff Burris, who coached the defensive backs at Northern Iowa last season, will be the new corners coach, per BleedTechBlue.

Incarnate Word (FCS – TX): Texas A&M Commerce (D-II) defensive coordinator Justin Deason is heading to UIW as defensive coordinator, per source. We understand that Texas A&M Commerce (D-II) defensive line coach Caid Faske is a strong candidate to join the UIW staff as well.

Charlotte: Howard co-defensive coordinator, cornerbacks coach and recruiting coordinator Chip West has been announced as co-defensive coordinator and cornerbacks coach to complete the staff. James Adams will transition to safeties coach. Brad Queen has been promoted to defensive tackles coach, Ulrick Edmonds will handle defensive ends and new defensive coordinator hire Glenn Spencer will handle linebackers. The offensive staff breaks out as follows: Shane Montgomery, OC/QBs; Keith Henry, RBs; Greg Adkins, OL/run game coordinator; Johnson Richardson, TEs; Charlie Skalaski, WRs/STs.

Georgia State: Jacob Huesman and Alex Nelson will be GAs on Georgia State’s staff, sources tell us. Nelson was a QC last season.

DuPage (JC – IL): Former North Dakota State College of Science (JC – ND) interim head coach and defensive backs coach Xavier Dean has been hired to coach wide receivers at DuPage. Associate head coach / offensive coordinator Trevor Cipriano will move from wide receivers to tight ends / H-backs.

Philadelphia Eagles: Head coach Doug Pederson will interview running backs coach Duce Staley and wide receivers coach Mike Groh for the vacant offensive coordinator position today, per a tweet from Tim McManus.

Minnesota Vikings: Todd Downing, who served as the Raiders offensive coordinator last season after spending two years coaching the quarterbacks, has been announced as a senior offensive assistant.

Georgia Southern: Per source, Albany State (D-II) defensive coordinator Cory Peoples has left to take the corners job on the Georgia Southern staff.

Alderson Broaddus (D-II – WV): Alderson Broaddus is looking for two games for the 2019 season. The open dates are September 14 and September 21. We would prefer to set up a Home and Home for 2019 and 2020 with a Division II opponent. We also would consider traveling for a FCS opponent for a guarantee. Chowan (D-II – NC): Chowan University is seeking four volunteer assistant coaches, 2 offensive and 2 defensive. Ideal candidates will have a passion for football, a relentless work ethic and a desire to learn. Alcorn State (FCS – AL): Damon Frenchers, who has worked with the defensive line at Lyon College (NAIA – AR), Arkansas-Pine Bluff (FCS), and North Carolina A&T (FCS), has joined the staff as defensive line coach, and Stevon Moore has joined the staff as defensive backs coach after spending the last 17 years in the same capacity at Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (JC). Also, linebackers coach Cedric Thornton has been promoted to defensive coordinator and tight ends / fullbacks coach Elliott Wratten has been elevated to recruiting coordinator.

Southwest Baptist University (D-II – MO): Brice Carlson, current offensive line coach at Malone University (D-II) has been named the new offensive line coach / run game coordinator at Southwest Baptist, a source tells FootballScoop.

Georgia State: Western Carolina (FCS) secondary coach / passing game coordinator Blake Gideon will be the corners coach at Georgia State, sources tell FootballScoop.

Denver: Maine AD Karlton Creech will be the new AD at Denver, tweets Dan Wolken.

Garden City CC (JC – KS): Garden City has made the following hires, many of which we’ve already touched on; Becker College (D-III – MA) assistant head coach / offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach Peter Collins will be the offensive coordinator and coach the RBs and TEs, Tom Leogrande (who worked in an off-field role at Texas last season) will coach the WRs, Ohio State graduate assistant Sean Buckley will coach the quarterbacks, Nebraska graduate assistant Jon Clark will coach the corners, and Central Oklahoma graduate assistant Casey Walker will coach the defensive line. We understand that a linebackers job on staff remains open.

USC: Per source, Santa Margarita HS (CA) offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Lenny Vandermade has accepted an offensive quality control job at USC. This will mark Vandermade’s third stint with the Trojans, serving in an offensive quality control role from 2009-12, and then again from 2014-15 and he coached the tight ends in 2015.

Georgia becomes the third program to bump assistant salary pool beyond $6 million

Jacksonville State (FCS – AL): Andrew Warwick, who was the defensive analyst at Clemson last season, is the new linebackers coach at Jacksonville State, per source.

Luther (D-III – IA): Luther College is seeking applicants for an Assistant Coach on offense, coaching the wide receivers. This is 9-month, $12,000 position with housing and benefits included. The candidate will be responsible for coaching their own position group, recruiting an area, and other assignments given by the Offensive Coordinator & Head Coach. Applicants with a background in strength and conditioning will be preferred. West Georgia (D-II): Dustin Landry is the team’s new defensive coordinator. Landry previously served as the defensive coordinator at Western Carolina (FCS) before coordinating the defense for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (JC) last season.

Delaware State (FCS): Per source, Anthony Vitale has accepted the offensive line job. Vitale previously served as the offensive line coach at recruiting coordinator at Southwest Baptist (D-II – MO).

Midwestern Prep (Postgrad – Rantoul, IL): Midwest Prep Academy is looking for a offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach. An ACT test prep instructor position is also available. This is a part time paid position in which meals and housing are available. Ideal position for flexible coaches looking to expand their resume and get college coordinator experience.
