    Jacksonville State: Athletic director Warren “Moose” Koegel has announced he will retire at the end of the year. Koegel, who was an assistant football coach at Rutgers and UConn in the 90s, has served as AD at Jacksonville State since June 2011.

    Texas: The University of Texas plans to begin to pay each of their athletes approximately $10,000 per year to cover “cost of attendance” and “use of likeness” according to athletic director Steve Patterson.

    Northwestern Oklahoma State (D-II): Head coach Alan Hall has stepped down due to health concerns. Offensive coordinator Kevin Turco will continue to serve as interim head coach until a permanent head coach is selected.

    Florida State: Offensive line coach Rick Trickett has returned to practice after spending the weekend in the hospital after a heart attack.

    Just a reminder, the last day to register for the 2015 NCAA and AFCA Future Football Coaches Academy down in Louisville during the AFCA convention (January 11-13) is Wednesday, October 22nd at 5:00pm. The academy is restricted to those no more than three years removed from college graduation. With only 30 available seats, the selection process is competitive.     College of Faith (AR): Our College Of Faith – Arkansas branch is starting is football program in 2015. We need games for 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018. We need games for all weekend dates, except 10/15/2015 and we will compete at D1, D2, D3, NAIA, USCAA levels as our other locations do presently.     Florida: Jeremy Foley issued a statement today that he will continue to evaluate the team as the season plays out. Here is our read on the situation at Florida.

    Wilmington College (D-III – OH): Defensive line coach Bryce Bozman has been relieved of his duties, per source.

    College Football Playoff: Archie Manning is taking a leave of absence from the College Football Playoff selection committee. Manning will undergo surgery next month to help relieve discomfort he is experiencing in his legs. The committee will go with 12 members for this season. The committee asserts that Archie will return in 2015.

    Florida State: Offensive line coach Rick Trickett is out of the hospital but won’t return until Tuesday at the earliest after missing Saturday night’s win over Notre Dame due to health concerns. Check out the FSU offensive line’s tribute to Trickett from last night.

    Florida: Gainesville reporter Pat Dooley noted this morning that no changes were expected at Florida over the next two weeks.

    Florida State: Offensive line coach Rick Trickett will not be on the sidelines tonight due to a personal health issue. Offensive grad assistant David Spurlock will handle the game day coaching duties. Here’s to hoping for a speedy recovery.

    Washington State: Eric Mele has been promoted to special teams coordinator, according to KLEW-TV in Lewiston, Idaho. Mele was a QC assistant promoted to the nine-man assistant staff following the dismissal of special teams coach Eric Russell last month.
