Miami Dolphins: ESPN’s Adam Caplan reports that Wisconsin defensive backs coach Daronte Jones will be the new defensive backs coach of the Dolphins.
San Diego Chargers: The Chargers have hired former Notre Dame quarterback Tommy Rees as an offensive assistant and Marquice Williams as a special teams assistant.
Atlanta Falcons: Team owner Arthur Blank has announced he has prostate cancer. “I have chosen an aggressive approach that will include surgery and the overall prognosis is good. I’m looking forward to getting this behind me and continuing a very active lifestyle, my upcoming wedding, as well as continued active involvement in our businesses and philanthropic efforts for years to come,” Blank said.
Scoop Him Up: Nick Newsome is currently the slot receivers coach and special teams coordinator at Capital University in Columbus, Ohio, where he assists in off-season game-planning while overseeing the team’s compliance and eligibility efforts. A graduate of Austin Peay and UT-Martin, Newsome coached at both of his alma maters and at South Gibson County High School in Tennessee; his experience ranges from wide receivers, quarterbacks and tight ends to defensive backs and linebackers all while holding an expertise in special teams and assisting in strength and conditioning.
New York Jets: The Jets have promoted John Scott Jr. to assistant defensive line coach, hired Tim Atkins as defensive quality control coach, and also hired David Diaz-Infante as the assistant offensive line coach.

South Dakota Mines (D-II): South Dakota Mines is looking for volunteer interns (offense/defense/special teams) to assist during spring ball 2016. Purdue: Sean Robinson and Justin Sinz have joined the staff as graduate assistants. Both guys are former players. Robinson spent last season as a graduate assistant at Central Michigan and Sinz was previously an undrafted free agent with the Colts in the spring of 2015.

Trinity International (NAIA – IL): Trinity International is looking for applicants for a defensive line graduate assistant position. Lake Erie College (D-II – OH): Lake Erie College is looking to hire an offensive line coach. This position is responsible for assisting the head coach in recruiting, training, and coaching members of the football team. This position is responsible for coaching the offensive line position and all aspects to go with that. Required: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. A strong commitment to the student-athlete concept, a working knowledge of NCAA rules and regulations, effective leadership, communication, coaching and recruiting skills are required. Stanford: One of the all-time great defensive line coaches, Randy Hart has announced his retirement. The 2015 season was Coach Hart’s 46th as a full-time assistant coach including his time at Stanford, Tampa, Iowa State, Purdue, Ohio State, Washington and Notre Dame. Hart was selected by his peers as the 2012 Defensive Line Coach of the Year.
Winston-Salem State (D-II): Former Wake Forest quarterback Ryan McManus will be the new quarterbacks coach, per SI.
Texas: Sources tell us Toledo co-offensive coordinator/running backs coach Anthony Johnson is interviewing at Texas today. We are told that if things go well this could play out as soon as today. Johnson is a former Longhorn and was a quality control at Texas from 2007-09.
South Carolina: Steve Spurrier’s new title at South Carolina will be Special Assistant to President Harris Pastides and Athletic Director Ray Tanner.
Texas Wesleyan (NAIA): Texas Wesleyan has announced that they will field an NAIA program beginning in 2017, and will compete in the Central State Football League.
Sacred Heart (FCS – CT): Per source, Memphis graduate assistant Tony Tokarz has been hired as wide receivers coach. Also, running backs coach Caleb Gelsomino has been promoted to quarterbacks coach and former Sacred Heart offensive lineman Frank McConnell has joined the staff as an offensive graduate assistant, and will coach the running backs.
Army: Daryl Dixon, who worked with Army defensive coordinator Jay Bateman at Ball State, has been named outside linebackers coach.
