Detroit Lions: The Lions will interview Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Caldwell according to Adam Schefter.

Houston Texans: Bill O'Brien will be the Texans' next head coach according to Adam Schefter and Chris Mortensen of ESPN. Here's what you need to know.

Maryland: Receivers coach Lee Hull will not return to the staff his agent tells people. Jeff Barker of the Baltimore Sun reports that Hull is trying to get the Morgan State head job. 

Georgia Southern: Sources tell us that Sam Houston State head coach Willie Fritz has spoken with Georgia Southern AD Tom Kleinlein. 

Texas: Athletics director Steve Patterson interviewed Charlie Strong on Tuesday and has already spoken with James Franklin, according to Chip Brown of Orangebloods.com. Brown also reports that Patterson wants to speak with Mark Dantonio. Additional note from the Scoop: It is early in the process. We suspect there will be more where this came from over the next week. 

Central Arkansas: Sources tell us that the Central Arkansas offensive staff has been completed. Nathan Brown will be the offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach, DJ Looney will coach the offensive line, Pete Bennett will coach the receivers, and Mike McCarty will handle the running backs.

Massachusetts: The university has appointed a 12-member search committee for its new head coach, co-chaired by athletics director John McCutcheon and vice chancellor for university relations John Kennedy. UMass has also hired Carr Sports Consulting to help with the search. McCutcheon and Kennedy said they plan to have a new head coach in place by mid-January.

Texas A&M: Kevin Sumlin has made it clear that he will not entertain any NFL head coaching requests and will honor his contract according to Chris Mortensen. 

Montana Tech (NAIA): Sources tell us that former McPherson College (NAIA - KS) head coach Pete Sterbick will be the new offensive coordinator at Montana Tech.

Washington Redskins: Carolina defensive coordinator Sean McDermott is scheduled to interview with the Redskins over the weekend, according to Adam Schefter.

North Dakota (FCS): Sources tell us Bubba Schweigert has offered Minot State head coach Paul Rudolph the offensive coordinator position at UND. 

St. Vincent (D-III - PA): Sources tell us that three finalists for the head coaching position include Chris Norwell (defensive line coach at D-III Thomas More), Ron Dolciato (offensive coordinator / assistant head coach at D-III John Carroll). and John Thompson (defensive coordinator at St. Vincent).

Worcester State (D-III - MA): Defensive line coach Tom Cullen will transition to defensive coordinator, Robert Johnson has been hired as the DFO / recruiting coordinator / defensive line coach, and offensive line coach Adam Peloquin has added the duties of special teams coordinator.

USC: Marques Tuiasasopo will receive a raise and the title of associate head coach in moving from Washington to USC, according to Adam Jude of the Seattle Times. 

North Dakota: Sources tell us that Bubba Schweigert is planning to bring Southern Illinois linebackers coach Eric Schmidt as his defensive coordinator. 

Nebraska Wesleyan (NAIA): Nebraska Wesleyan in Lincoln, NE is looking to fill an open date in 2015 and 2016. Open date in 2015 is September 5 and September 3 for 2016. Would prefer to play away in 2015 and home in 2016. Looking for DIII or NAIA opponent. Please contact head coach Brian Keller at 402-465-2354 or [email protected]

North Dakota State: Closing the loop a bit from yesterday, sources tell us that Tim Polasek (OC), Matt Entz (DC) and Randy Hedberg (QBs) all are planning to accept the positions at NDSU as reported by Mike McFeely. 

Wake Forest: As expected, Dave Clawson has officially announced the additions of Mike Elko (defensive coordinator) and Warren Ruggiero (offensive coordinator). Both guys join Clawson after spending the past five years with him at Bowling Green.

New York Giants: Owner John Mara gave Tom Coughlin a vote of confidence yesterday, stating "we do want him back as our head coach, we have every confidence in him." Coughlin has one year remaining on his deal.

Florida State: Jimbo Fisher has reportedly signed his new contract according to Warchant.com. The new deal will pay Fisher a reported $4.1 million a year and include further incentives. We have not seen any information regarding buyout figures. The contract is slated to keep him at FSU through the 2019 season.

East Coast Prep (post grad - MA): Located in Great Barrington, MA, East Coast Prep is seeking two assistant coaches for the 2014 season. We are seeking experience on the offensive side but will consider all candidates. You will coach your own position and have off field duties assigned by the head coach. Compensation includes room and board and a stipend. This is a 4 month position (August - December). We will be conducting interviews in Indianapolis on January 13 & 14. Marshall: Athletic director Mike Hamrick told the Metronews Talkline that he hopes and plans to work out a contract extension for head coach Doc Holliday. Holliday, who led the Thundering Herd to 10 wins this season, currently has two years left on his contract.

USC: USC announced the hiring of Drevno, Wilcox, Tui and Ivan Lewis last night. The lone remaining assistant position on USC's staff is defensive line.

USC: Sources tell us San Francisco 49ers offensive line coach Tim Drevno will be the new offensive line coach at USC following the season. 

Georgia Southern: Sources tell us Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has interviewed for the head job at Georgia Southern. 

USC: Justin Wilcox and UW strength coach Ivan Lewis both signed "mutual termination agreements" with UW allowing both to go to USC with no further obligations (Wilcox contractually would owe UW $1 million; but this new agreement reportedly absolves that obligation). 

Washington: UW is buying out the contracts of Eric Kiesau ($400,000) and Dan Cozzetto ($150,000). 

Denver Broncos: Offensive coordinator Adam Gase has announced that he will not interview for any head coaching positions until after the Broncos' season is over. 

Boise State: Boise has announced the additions of Eli Drinkwitz (tight ends), Julius Brown (defensive backs), Jeff Pitman (strength) and Antwon Murray (assistant director of player personnel) all from Arkansas State. 

West Virginia: Sources tell us offensive line coach Ron Crook will stay at WVU despite an offer from Wake Forest to join their staff in the same capacity. 

North Dakota State: Mike McFeely reports that Chris Klieman is likely to name Tim Polasek (Northern Illinois) offensive coordinator and Matt Entz (Western Illinois) defensive coordinator and that Randy Hedberg (Southern Illinois) could be the new quarterbacks coach. We have not confirmed...

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons have announced that offensive line coaches Paul Dunn & Pat Hill and defensive line coach Ray Hamilton will not return. 

Cleveland: The Browns reportedly have requested to interview Josh McDaniels. 

Minnesota Vikings: The Vikings also plan to interview Seattle defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, per Adam Schefter.

Washington: Tosh Lupoi has been reassigned within the athletic department and will not be a part of Washington's coaching staff next season. Here is where the staff stands currently: Jonathan Smith (offensive coordinator/quarterbacks), Brent Pease (wide receivers), Keith Bhonapha (running backs/recruiting coordinator), Chris Strausser (associate head coach/offensive line), Pete Kwiatkowski (defensive coordinator), Bob Gregory (linebackers), Jimmy Lake (secondary) and Jeff Choate (defensive line/special teams). Petersen has also brought on Tim Socha (strength and conditioning coordinator), Rich Rasmussen (director of player personnel), and Mike McHugh (director of football operations). Damon Huard will remain as the chief administrative officer for the football program. To our knowledge the tight ends position remains unfilled at this time. 

Detroit Lions: Offensive coordinator Scott Linehan and wide receivers coach Tim Lappano have also been let go. 

Buffalo Bills: Sources tell us wide receivers coach Ike Hilliard will not return with the staff. 

Houston Texans: Mort is reporting that a deal between the Texans and Bill O'Brien is imminent and should be done within the next 24 hours. @RapSheet adds that the team will not interview Ken Whisenhunt now that the Chargers are in the playoffs.  

Jeff Tedford: Multiple sources including Jason Cole and Ian Rapoport are now floating that Lovie Smith plans to bring Jeff Tedford on board as his offensive coordinator as he works towards landing his next head coaching opportunity in the league. Plenty of people (including Tony Dungy) suggesting that the Bucs should hand him the job. 

Union (D-III - NY): Union College is looking to complete it's schedule for the 2015/2016 season. Looking for a Away/Home for Week 1 September 5, 2015 and September 3, 2016 or Week 7 October 17, 2015 and October 15, 2016. Willing to work a 2-year or possibly a 4-year deal. Dallas Cowboys: A lot of speculation within the profession and now NFL Network's Ian Rapoport also is stating that it will be a surprise if defensive coordinator Monte Kiffin returns next season. 

Jones County Community College (MS): Sources tell us offensive coordinator and recruiting coordinator David Thornton will be named the next head coach following Ray Perkins' resignation. 

Maryland: Offensive line coach Tom Bratton will not have his contract renewed, according to a report from the Washington Post.

Cleveland Browns: Multiple reports state that Seattle Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn will interview with the Browns. 

Alabama A&M: Last night we told you that Nevada tight ends coach James Spady would be Alabama A&M's new head coach. The school will hold a press conference Friday to introduce Spady. 

UConn: Central Michigan offensive coordinator / offensive line coach Mike Cummings will be the new offensive coordinator at UConn per Desmond Conner. 

Cleveland: The Browns have put in a formal request to interview Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase per Mike Garafolo. 

USC: Sources tell us Sark will announce the hiring of Tui and Wilcox today...

Detroit Lions: Jim Schwartz will not return as head coach. Here's what you need to know.

Miami (Ohio): Sources tell us Notre Dame defensive grad assistant Corey Brown will join Chuck Martin's staff as defensive line coach. We reported weeks ago that ND offensive grad assistant Pat Welsh was joining Chuck's staff as well. Sounds like Notre Dame will be bringing in all new grad assistants... Additional sources tell us that Citadel safeties coach John Hauser will join the Miami Ohio staff as defensive backs coach. 

Michigan State: Mark Hollis and Mark Dantonio have "verbally agreed on raises for Dantonio and his staff" per Joe Rexrode. 

UConn: Sources tell us Notre Dame director of player development Ernest Jones will join Bob Diaco's staff as running backs coach and we also hear Notre Dame defensive grad assistant Josh Reardon will join UConn's staff as defensive backs coach. 

Tampa Bay: Greg Schiano and general manager Mark Dominik have both been fired per Jay Glazer. The organization has now confirmed. Here's what you need to know.

Cleveland Browns: Chud's buyout, per Chris Mortensen, is $10.5 million.

Houston Texans: The Texans will interview San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt for its vacant head coaching position according to John McClain of the Houston Chronicle. McClain notes the timing of the interview could be complicated due to the Chargers earning a playoff berth on Sunday. 

Washington Redskins: Mike Shanahan and his staff have been let go per the Washington Post. Here's what you need to know.

Penn State: Peter King wrote in his Monday Morning QB report, "I think--no, I know-- that Greg Schiano has not been in contact with Penn State". King adds that he believes that Schiano is hoping to be able to stay on with Tampa; and King adds that he'd be surprised if Tampa let him go. 

Minnesota Vikings: As NFL Network reported last night, the Vikings announced this morning that they have fired Leslie Frazier. Here's what you need to know.

Miami Dolphins: "Significant changes" are coming for the Miami coaching staff, according to a report from the Miami Herald.

Dallas Cowboys: Owner Jerry Jones voiced his support for head coach Jason Garrett returning for another season after their third straight 8-8 season.

Alabama A&M: Sources tell us Nevada tight ends coach James Spady will be the new head coach at Alabama A&M. 

Atlanta Falcons: The Falcons have signed defensive coordinator Mike Nolan to an extension, according to Jay Glazer.

Miami (OH): Alabama defensive quality control Joe Palcic will join Chuck Martin's staff as linebackers coach sources tell us. We also are told that former Western Carolina defensive coordinator Matt Pawlowski will be named defensive coordinator at Miami Ohio. 

USC: Marques Tuiasosopo has accepted an offer to join Sark's staff as the tight ends coach, according to a report from the Seattle Times.

Cleveland Browns: Chris Mortensen is reporting that Chud will be fired. Update >> The Browns have officially announced that Rob Chudzinski has been let go after meeting with team officials. Here's what you need to know.

Saginaw Valley State (D-II - MI): Sources tell us that the defensive coordinator job is open.

Washington Redskins: Mike Shanahan will be let go as head coach within the next 24 hours according to the Washington Post. UPDATE >> Jay Glazer is now reporting that Shanahan will meet with owner Dan Snyder first thing tomorrow morning and will be let go at that time. 

Detroit Lions: Citing league sources, Adam Schefter said the Lions' ownership is "on the fence" about keeping head coach Jim Schwartz but is "leaning towards keeping him."

Texas: The Dallas Morning News & the Austin American Statesman both came out with extremely similar updates on the status of Texas' search. In short, both said that Art Briles, Jimbo Fisher, James Franklin, Charlie Strong....and Nick Saban are all possibilities. Both also noted that other candidates could emerge. We'll keep you posted.

Central Arkansas: Sources tell us East Mississippi offensive line coach D.J. Looney will join the staff at Central Arkansas as tackles / tight ends coach. Has any program seen more coaches move up to D-II, FCS & FBS over past few years than EMCC? Pretty impressive. 

Penn State: Athletic director David Joyner is considering making a run at Greg Schiano in the event Bill O'Brien leaves per NFL Network's Ian Rapoport. 

New York Jets: Head coach Rex Ryan will be retained for 2014 according to the New York Daily News

Notre Dame: Brian VanGorder will be the new defensive coordinator at Notre Dame according to Mike Garafalo and Ian Rapoport. VanGorder is currently the linebackers coach for the New York Jets. Here's what you need to know.

Georgia Southern: Sources tell us that Ivin Jasper's interview is tomorrow and that both Rhett Lashlee (Auburn) and Zach Azzanni (Tennessee) have interviewed for the head job already (along with Brent Pry). We hear an announcement should come no later than January 5th. 

Arkansas State: Now that their bowl game is over, we can confirm that Walt Bell is leaving North Carolina's staff to become co-offensive coordinator at Arkansas State. Bell made less than $100,000 per year at UNC and will reportedly make $225,000 at A-State. Bell's brother Luke Paschall will also leave UNC (grad assistant) to become wide receivers / special teams coordinator. 

Notre Dame: Brian Kelly confirmed today Notre Dame's new defensive coordinator hire will come from outside the program. Several days ago we heard the hire will be announced after the BCS National Championship. Will update...

Houston Texans: The Texans and Bill O'Brien have intensified their talks, and the two sides are "working on a deal" to make O'Brien the Texans' next head coach according to Chris Mortensen and Adam Schefter of ESPN. Update: Texans owner Bob McNair said today, "The process continues. We have other interviews scheduled next week. It isn't over."

Ohio State: Ohio State is looking for two qualified offensive graduate assistants. A minimum 2.9 GPA and previous coaching/GA experience are required. The Buckeyes are also looking for an offensive skill intern. Update> We are no longer accepting applications at this time. Thank you all for your interest.  

Central Florida: George O'Leary confirmed at Fiesta Bowl practice today he has hired Paul Ferraro as defensive coordinator according to the Orlando Sentinel. 

Belhaven University (NAIA - MS): Sources tell us Belhaven head coach Joe Thrasher has accepted the head coaching position at Hartfield Academy (MS).

James Madison (FCS - VA): Sources tell us Ohio State offensive grad assistant Drew Mehringer will join Everett Withers staff at JMU. He will be co-offensive coordinator/quarterbacks coach. 

UConn: Sources tell us Buffalo quarterbacks coach / recruiting coordinator Don Patterson will join Bob Diaco's staff at UConn.

Wake Forest: Sources tell us that West Virginia offensive line coach Ron Crook, former Rutgers offensive line coach Damian Wroblewski and 2013 Wake offensive line coach Jonathan Himebauch have all interviewed for the offensive line job at Wake. One source told us yesterday that Crook had been offered the job.

Georgia Southern: Brent Pry has interviewed and Ivin Jasper will this weekend per WSAV.

Southeast Missouri State (FCS): Northeastern Oklahoma A&M (JC) head coach Sherard Poteete has resigned after one season to become the offensive coordinator at Southeast Missouri State. 

FAU: Sources tell us that University School (FL) head coach Roger Harriott plans to accept the running backs job at FAU.

St. Norbert (D-III - WI): Steve Opgenorth, who spent last season as the offensive coordinator at Colby College (D-III - ME), has been announced as the program's new head coach

Arkansas State: Middle Tennessee defensive line coach/special teams coordinator Joe Cauthen is heading to Arkansas State as defensive coordinator.

Oregon: Defensive coordinator Nick Aliotti will retire after the Alamo Bowl, according to a report from Bruce Feldman. Aliotti has spent 21 years at Oregon and has served as defensive coordinator under three different head coaches dating back to 1999. Here's what you need to know.

Elon: Sources tell us that Ball State offensive grad assistant Chris Reisert will be joining Rich Skrosky's staff at Elon.

USC: Special teams coordinator John Baxter has been told by Steve Sarkisian he will not be retained, according to the Los Angeles Times. Baxter, one of the top special teams minds in the country and the 2011 FootballScoop Special Teams Coordinator of the Year, would be a great asset to any staff.

Boise State: Offensive coordinator / receivers coach Robert Prince, and linebackers coach Robert Gregory will not be retained as a part of Bryan Harsin's staff, according to the Idaho Statesman.

Ball State: Patrick Dougherty (a former offensive grad assistant at Ball State) has been named tight ends coach. Dougherty, who spent the 2013 season as a defensive quality control coach at Northwestern, will take over for Joey Lynch who was promoted to offensive coordinator / quarterbacks coach.

Southern Miss: It's not a done deal yet, but sources tell us that former Florida Atlantic offensive line coach Luke Meadows will join Todd Monken's staff at Southern Miss as offensive line coach.

USC: Justin Wilcox will be named USC's defensive coordinator after Washington's bowl game tonight according to Bruce Feldman. 

Citadel: Sources tell us Ashley Ingram (Navy), Clay Hendrix (Air Force), Chris Culton (Navy), Mike Houston (Lenoir-Rhyne) and KC Keeler (former Delaware head coach) have all been asked to interview. Will keep you updated...

FAU: New Mexico State offensive line coach Bart Miller has accepted the same position at FAU. Here's a good look at the FAU staff so far. 

Kalamazoo College (D-III - MI): Our condolences go out to the family of Ed Baker, who served as the head coach at Kalamazoo College from 1967-1989. Coach Baker passed away recently after a lengthy battle with cancer. Please keep his family in your prayers.
